Fan's Perspective

NEW! Poetry and Doll Maker with Galleries!     [Learn About Our Ecommerce]
Graphics Gallery!

Written in anger after reading an Anti-Anti-Pokemon guestbook entry, I hope this clears up some misconceptions. But hope is all that I can think.

Here is what many of Pokemon lovers will think:
1. AP sites have fake reasons to hate Pokemon
2. They love to have (and post) gory pictures
3. They only hate Pokemon
4. They don’t know anything about the show
5. They have no life, no conscience

No, this is all wrong! To begin, let me say this: we are humans. We are not mindless, blank people who do not feel. As much it affects you, it affects us. That is a sordid fact. And because a few of our sites do not warn the user, it doesn’t mean that you slaughter us with lies and knowingly inflicting false accusations. It seems as though you try to punish the one that doesn’t directly attack you.

So let me inflict the golden rule: Don’t insult the other unless you will tolerate the other doing the same to you. It’s not the same, but you have the same idea. I was angered at the atrocities of what most AAP sites commit: libel, injustice, untruths, and lies. They use the stereotype, anything but that would be wrong:

We only hate Pokemon: Have you ever stopped to think that the person writing this material is a real person, like your best friend or sibling? We’re all real here. Many Anti-Pokemon sites aren’t updated very often much because we all have priorities to achieve, and things to do. Ever think of that? It’s all true. And “We only hate Pokemon” is not true.

We don’t know anything about the show: I’ve heard this millions of times. We don’t know everything. So if we don’t know everything, we have no justification to attacking Pokemon. But, if you don’t know everything about us, either, and then how can you justify attacking us? You can’t; you have no footing. So do not attack us, because you don’t know even know why we have these sites or refuse to believe it. If you say we have no justification for judging the show, then you have no justification in judging us.

We are morally wrong; we are a disgrace: This can all be summarized into one word: OPINION. It is an opinion. And yet, lovers use that like it is all fact and think that we’re very wrong on that purpose. And that we are very unmoral because we do that. That is not true. Opinions are the beliefs of people. If you don’t like it, then do not accept it. If you don’t appreciate opinion, then please do not get on these sites to begin with. We choose what our opinions are. If you can’t or don’t respect them, then don’t complain about us.

We cried when seeing bloody pictures (fan view): Listen, here: I’m sorry that you had to see those pictures. But there is a certain responsibility that comes with surfing online. Surf responsibly: do not go on sites that you know that may be dangerous. It is more than common sense: it is for protection and safety. But to believe that the problem will be solved by shutting down these sites is wrong. It will not be solved. Take out the root of the problem by protecting yourself, not by removing every site that has bloody pics. It’s impossible to possibly remove every site, because there’ll always be more. Always, there will be.

It’s a two-way street here: there are feelings on both sides. If you don’t respect or see that, then you are no better than the people who post bloody pics on their sites. You are as low as those who create them [those sites]. Don’t think that you’re purging the world of evil when you’re committing it yourself; don’t believe the fallacy [lie] that you have spun yourself in. It’s all hypocritical: thinking that you are destroying evil when you yourself are creating it.

A touch of irony, isn’t it?
