Click here to view the Poke-Lovers United "Common Sense" Article

This article was in response to the one on PokeLovers United, the “Common Sense” one. Read it there, and read my counter-response. It slightly differs from the one that I sent to PokeLovers United, and further argues against what Anti-Anti-Pokemon does, extending it in more detail than any other section of my site. It slightly overlaps the “Fact vs. Fallacy” article, though. This is just on one page.
---------------------------------
OK, this is all wrong. For one thing, there are reasons to hate Anime, and I have some. 1), they don't incorporate widening originality (many series mirror their predecessors--Pokemon to Digimon). 2), it is hard if at all to use any Anime in real life (i.e. morals, back-and-forth talk, and others). 3), the storylines are also similar, like Power Rangers; their new series mirror the others except with a different title, rangers, and more sophisticated effects.

Again, AAP is counter-responding on the stereotype and using it against what it not the stereotype. To put it simply, they are using arguments against us that aren't even really valid at all. They are attacking sites with reasons with the notion that they do not have reasons. This is libel, slander, whatever you call it, and is illegal.

We [AP] know what Pokemon is. I personally have picked up Yellow, talked to a person that has Blue, Yellow, Sliver, and Gold, and have watched nearly every episode of the Indigo League Pokemon show. Other people say that they were Pokemon Lovers, before. Yet I continue to receive the argument that I don't know anything whatsoever about the show and that is known as lies or libel, the latter being the more serious offense, and not protected by the U.S. Constitution, or by any other countries.

This sheer success that is claimed on Anime is not a success at all. Sure, it is a success in making money and getting kids into a new show, but with the messages, the bad morals with it, it can totally shift children's thinking. With the numerous bad morals, wrongs, and more (view my site), it is a push in the wrong direction for little kids. That's not good at all, and I will go into detail if I have to defend this argument.

I do not attack it because it is childish. I attack it because if it's risk to ruining little kid's minds, washing them with that tackles, fire spins, and shocking other people is OK and is good. No. AAP frequently argues, "Well, it's a kid's show! They don't take it seriously!" Well, that's wrong. Every episode has something of that manner and if they show it over and over again, it will be etched in their minds. Those kids who didn't know better when choking on those toys don't know any better when it comes to distinguishing reality from a kids' show. That's right, it's true.

If AP attacks something that can't defend itself doesn't meant that we're beating up on one that can’t defend itself. That's a pathetic AAP argument. Pokemon has a strong base; we are attempting to chip at that base. If it can continue to release more Pokemon (extending to 351+ in Pokemon Advance) then it is not weak at all. AAP should know that, but they don't, because you don't have the sense to look at it from our point of view.

What I mean is, not the average Pokemon hater, but the more sophisticated one. You have neglected to do that, and that is a big mistake. Attacking the majority doesn't bring down the minority. No, it doesn’t, not at all.

We are equally as sick and tired as AAP is of defending our sites. AAP is more than likely to be sick of defending your trend; we are of our sites. I have felt threatened by AAP sites by their words--"We will hack into your site." That's illegal. AAP shouldn’t do that. If we don't do it to you, then you don't vice versa. I know that Ashley's site was hacked into. But what are we supposed to do? Are we supposed to sit back and wait for AAP to successfully hack into ours? No, we don't! That's pure and simple, easy to understand.

“You won’t get any friends if you are AP” is an argument frequently used by AAP to make us feel bad and indirectly have us shut down our sites. That is not a true fact. Because of my aggressive campaigns on Ashley's guestbook and forum, I have gotten support from APHQ [Anti-Pokemon Headquarters] and now that I am getting more involved, I am getting support from other sites. The so-called base of friends that you will get won't support you like this. I know because those people aren't taking serious action against our sites. Only a small handful of those sites are.

Sometimes Anti-Pokemon doesn’t place their e-mail address when bombing guestbooks. Are we wimps? No, we aren’t. It’s because we are, in a sense, afraid. Threats, hacking threats, flames, e-mail bombs, and other such things can be inflicted on a Pokemon hater if he/she leaves their e-mail address. Besides, look at the Net Nomad’s site. He has numerous guestbook and forum flames that do not put their e-mail address. Why? Maybe, I think, because they aren’t any different than the Pokemon haters that bomb AAP guestbooks.

Ever think about that?

When AAP was established, you have in mind that it will encourage us to shut down. Not true at all. When a traitor whose name nearly mirrors the gym leader in Vermillion City turned against us, it stiffened my resolve. When I discovered "Oddish's AAP site," it again stiffened by will to fight. You're not doing what you hope to accomplish. And it won't be done.

And there's a reason why.

That reason is because we are fighting for a cause we believe in. We have people that will support each other at any time, any place. I have friends, and they are helping me. The AP world isn't bad. It supports you. Over the two years I've been doing this, I have gotten more support than I did when I did like Pokemon.

And that's a fact.
