When is it time for a wheelchair?
A wheelchair can be a great improvement to our lifestyle

Entry on April 1,2008 When do we need a wheelchair? Probably sooner than we are admitting ,if I remember my own beginning into needing one. When the walking gets to the point we are endangering of falling too easily or fatigue is making life way too difficult and we stay home too much . OR we are told by others that really hate to see us missing out on life and being free to do it.

My wife was the first to think I needed a scooter and saw to it I was exposed by diverting our travels to the Amigo Factory in Michigan about 3 years after i was dignosed as chronic MS which is now days called primary progressive Ms (PPMS)
My joy of the day that day in the AMIGO factor was seeing and feeling free to move when crutches were a chore eventually even though the doctor insisted I still use then along with enjoying my scooter for longer distances.
My first impression after getting my scooter home was I begin to think of it as my magic carpet to traveling about town, then it was Akron.
My first big trip was over seas to England and Holland (Amsterdam and near by country side)It was a delightful trip but I soon learned that they had differen electrical current. So the next great trip over to Europe in the next year I got a light weight wheelchair to travel through 18 European countries ,mainly on a wonderful bus or coach as they called it.
I realized on that trip the happiness of getting abou even if it ment rolling instead of walking.I was even sudenly not camera shy and easily didn't mind being in group photos or even a photo with just me seated in my wheelchair as it was starting to be an extenion of my lifestyle by then. Rewrite as of May 19,2008 Long before I was a full wheeler I knew deep down it would eventually happed.

Some might wonder,Do I need a wheelchair or scooter full time. They are really liberating in the sense many of us develop such poor walking gaits that getting out and about is a thing that gets rare and we start to feel like shutins. That isn't good
just get your doctor to write you a prescription for either a wheelchair or a power
one. Your life will take on a new happy song!
