Update ;Nov.16,2002 Go to a craft shop and you see a lot of stuff made of
wood waiting to be painted or something. The something which will make it absolutely
unique ,never to be copied,no need for a copyright item .I did it on a bird house
at my Lakeside ohio retreat vacation .The whole project cost me $15 for a three holed
bird house.
You spread glue on the surface of the bird house ,a little at a time ,just one side
then you put on pieces of broken pottery, colorful glass ,and tiles .The mosic
effect you make yourself.I guarntee you would find another one like the one you do.
Once all the sides and roof of the house is covered then you smear on grout as
as you would use for bathroom tile. Then wipe off th surplus and the remaining grout
will fill in the spaces between broken pottery and broken glass parts.Once cleaned up
you let dry and spray with sealer, also available in craft stores.
Mine was shown on local TV just recently.Have fun but also buy yourself a pair
of medical throw away gloves its easier on your skin.
UPDATE June 14 ,2005
Art and the improvement of the one doing it is an ongoing process that never stops.
I have discoved the mors disabled I became, the better my art work seems to get.
That is because I'm focusing better with fewer distractions I had as an
able bodied person. You must forget the more active things and concentrate down out a media that you know you can do very good at with practice.
The chances are you will find someone in your local mall set up to sell the
equipment. You will need the rubber stamp, the ink and the sprinkling powder
You will also need a heat source The simplest is a heat lamp bulb.
The image you get is raised and it can have a touch of color with felt tipped
pens. Get the very fine pointed ones.
With your makeing greeting cards for people at Christmas , birthdays,
anniversaries, smypathy, graduation or any other occasion you will make a real
impression on the receiver because it was made by you, not bought in the store.
We are impressed with Hallmark or other fine card naturally . It's just the
thought some one cares. It brighted the day of the receiver. It also brighteds
the day of the sender, especially if you made it.
When you send a self made greeting to a friend especially an able bodied
one ,you are makeing a statement about you worth. They will recognize this and
even probably call you on the phone to thank you. Both souls are warmed.
You have by doing such stumbled upon a real leisure time activity as I
defined on the home page.
I use water color paper. You can buy already cut paper which is in card form
at most art stores. Or you can order it via phone or internet.
Dick Blick is my art supplier. I usually call it in.but their web site
is www.blickstudio.com or phone 1-800-828-4548
