Heres Matts review of bonkers 7
" In 1996 React music made the best move they could have. In the brightly coloured clothing that was the Happy Hardcore explosion, React jumped in to release 'Bonkers', a Hardcore compilation mixed by fresh talent Hixxy and MC (now DJ) Sharkey. 3 years later and React released their special millenium edition Bonkers 7, there to mark the long stay of Hardcore in the underground scene.
Bonkers 7 was like a coffee after beers- the sharp and clean Trance riffs were a wake up call from the warm fuzzyiness that was the seminal Bonkers 6. Hixxy was back in business, Dougal was now a regular and Sy was having his second go at the series.
Unfortunately, Bonkers 7 was obviously made in a rush for the millenium- Hixxy's mix, although well mixed, was 99% exclusives, all sounding the same and never peaking above 155 BPM.
Dougal's happy style was gone with a blast of icy trance, and Sy's mix was devoid of his usual scratching charm and as welcoming as a cold knife. React really screwed up, but with the tracklisitng for Bonkers 8 I cant wait!!!!!! " |
