The best book I ever read is On the Road,by Jack Kerouac. Most beautiful book anyone has ever read,I bet. It'll make you cry,it's so beautiful. Weep through the whole thing, even the simplest parts. You cry with love for all of them. Cry for Sal & Dean, and his many lost loves. The bums, their lives in shambles. All the mexican people, content in poverty, his father,& every charector that you would give everything you own away to buy a beer for.
See,Sal,the main charector is this beat guy living with his aunt in the late 40's,& this guy, Dean, is introduced to him & wants to learn to write from Sal & they just click. They're just two really natural souls. No outstanding hatred,or bitterness. No dark secrets or shocking history. They just have this amazing need to experince everything all the time. forever in search of the extreme emotion. They have this amazing bond (most clear at the end)that I pray to have. They keep running across the country, visiting friends, making lovers in San fransisco,New York, & Denver. They just keep slitting up & finding each other & Dean keeps getting married,& running away & you feel horrible for him. I just wish he'd fine 'the one' ,you know? And you hate him, too. Leaving all those women, wih children all alone like that. Dean is maybe the best charector ever created. Bursting with energy, bouncing,& always talking about 'it'; this complete understanding of what life is & happy & content and not needing more, but finding it still. He doesn't sleep much & cries & laughs for all his future experiences in the near future
You can't help but hope these people are real, that it all really happened, that there are more pages hidden in the binding. You want to go & meet those guys, those gone little girls, see Mexico, see New York, the gjosts, the eyes, all of it.Nothing can be this pure. Pure as in real. I pray my life is so fulfilling. The book is excruciatingly beautiful. I implore you to read it. It reminds me how there is always more,& it is always so different from the last scene. There is always so much more on this karma earth. |
