1. The aims of Nihon Go Shin Kage Ryu are to research, study and practice the underlying principles of Katsu Jin Ken (life giving sword) as part of the art of Mu Tou as the pathway to achieving Mu Shin.

2. Nihon Go Shin Kage Ryu will research, study and practice martial arts in accordance with the spirit of the Fudo Chi Shin Myo Roku (Mysterious Record of Immovable Wisdom).
Notes:
2. The Fudo Chi Shin Myo Roku, the Record of immovable wisdom was written by Takuan Soho. This work specifically addresses the concepts of Mu Shin and Muto.

3. Such methods of research, study and practice will be so as to ensure that the art of Nihon Go Shin Kage Ryu is researched, studied, practised and taught as far as is practicable and possible in accordance within the principles of Sogo Bugei Ryu Ha.

3. Sogo Bugei Ryu Ha: Sogo is a term which means composite and refers to the application of a set of principle that apply to many different aspects of a martial arts system. Bugei refers to martial arts and Ha is a term to describe a way. Ryu simply means school. The term Sogo Bugei Ryu Ha therefore means the practise of martial arts in accordance with certain ways and principles across its curriculum.

1. The teachings of the original Kage Ryu may have:had an impact on
1. Chinese martial arts due to the founder of Kage Ryu having studied in China and the evidence of the practise of a Shin Kage Ryu in China during the Ming dynasty.
2. The modern Japanese Budo forms such as Aikido and Kendo which have been passed to us in the west, due to the influence of that the late 19th and early 20th Century versions of Shin Kage Ryu.
3.The founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba who had studied both Gotto Ryu Yagy Ju Jutsu in which he obtained a teachers licence and Yagyu Shin Kage Ryu Ken Jutsu under Kosaburo Shomojo, from which the sword postures and exercises of Aikido were adopted and adapted.
4. Hinori Ohtsuka, the founder of Wado Ryu Karate Kempo Jutsu, a Master of Shindo Yoshin Ryu Ju Jutsu, who was influenced by Yagyu Ryu Ken Jutsu in the formation of Wado Ryu Kempo Karate Ju Jutsu.
5. Jigen Ryu Ken Jutsu which influenced the Okinawan Martial arts which is descended from Taisha Ryu, itself a descendant of Nobutsuna's Shin Kage Ryu.
6.Modern Kendo which aims to preserve traditional Japanese swordsmanship by the adoption and adaptation of those techniques which are representative of all traditional Japanese sword schools, this includes those schools which have developed from the Shin Kage Ryu.
