| Reincarnation can be one of Wicca's most valuable lessons. It is the belief that this is only one of many lives and that when the body dies we do not cease to exist, but are reborn into another body. Reincarnation is the instrument through which our souls are perfected. One lifetime is not nearly sufficient enough for this. The soul must be reborn many times, each life with a different set of lessons, until perfection is achieved. It's impossible to say just how many lives it takes to achieve this. Negative emotions can inhabit our growth. The soul is non-physical. It is both sexless and ageless and has a spark of both the God and Goddess. It is also important to remember that we decide the lay of our lives. We decide what we need in order to evolve. Now, the final question. What happens after our last incarnation? Basically it is said that those souls who have reached perfection break from the cycle. In the Craft the place we ascend to is often called Summerland, though it is known by many other names as well. |
