The Wing Gundam Zero, the ultimate mobile suit of the Gundam Wing world, was designed in AC 180 by five scientists who had helped develop the Earth Alliance's first military mobile suits. Having seen the products of their work used to brutally subjugate the space colonies, these five scientists set out to create a new mobile suit that would surpass the Alliance's weapons.

However, they did too good a job. The Wing Gundam Zero's raw power, and the dangerous stress it would place on its human pilot, so frightened its creators that they never completed their work. For fifteen years the Wing Gundam Zero existed only in blueprint form, a base design from which each of the five scientists developed his own Gundam for use against the tyrannical Alliance. At last, in AC 195, Gundam pilot Quatre Raberba Winner discovers the blueprints and brings this original Gundam to life.

Specially designed for space combat, the Wing Gundam Zero sports an array of powerful thrusters and can transform into a high-speed "neo bird mode." It's armed with beam sabers, pop-up machine cannons in its shoulders, and a devastating twin buster rifle. However, thanks to the Zero System - a unique control system that connects the pilot's mind directly to the Gundam's combat computer - the Wing Gundam Zero's most dangerous and unpredictable weapon is its human pilot.
