Plot summary: Aboard his ship with the Manguanacs, Quatre plans a way to get the gundams back to earth quickly. His plan involves him going alone onto the scrap satellite and, at just the right moment, exploding the engines so that the satellite is hurtled towards the Earth. As these plans are dicussed, Quatre remembers speaking with Instructor H, just before heading to Earth in Sandrock. While they are talking, a set of orders comes in but Instructor H destroys the message console and tells Quatre to fight with his own will, and to use the self-destruct system if and when he feels it necessary. (In other words, forget the orders that are coming from above.)

Back on colony L3X18999, Heero and Wu Fei are still fighting. Heero tells Wu Fei to use Altron's self-destruct button, given what kind of state he is in. Wu Fei refuses. Nearby, Duo asks Trowa (as they fight) why Trowa betrayed them. He responds that he's not Trowa and fires directly at Duo's fallen Leo. Duo then flashes back to a time just before Operation Meteor was launched. Fourteen-year-old Duo sneaks into Deathscythe's hangar, prepared to activate the mech's self-destruct. Why? Because he's just found out what Operation Meteor *really* is supposed to be and he can't allow it. He doesn't want his "pal" to become a weapon of mass destruction and murder. Unfortunately, the self-destruct doesn't work (poor Duo!) Professor G has sabotaged the destruct system and then shows up, telling Duo to steal Deathscythe and go to Earth on his own. Duo agrees (see Favorite Lines below) Professor H also tells Duo to find Howard.

Back to the fight, Trowa begins reminiscing. His first memories are of being a "nameless soldier on a battlefield." While working as a mechanic on Heavyarms, he witnessed an argument between Doktor S and the Real Trowa Barton concerning how Operation Meteor is to be carried out. Doktor S is protesting the drop of the colony but Trowa Barton says he will tell his father that S is a traitor. One of the Doktor's assisstants shoots Barton, saying that he has family on Earth and can't let the real Operation Meteor go on as planned. The Doktor and his aide hear a noise behind them and "Nananshi" steps out with his hands up. He volunteers to take the place of the real Trowa Barton and go down to Earth in Heavyarms.

Again back to the fight, Trowa sends several missles seemingly towards Duo and Duo prepares to die, but the missles hit the wall of the hangar instead and provide a way for Duo to get inside the colony.

Out in space, Sally and Noin are tracking a Taurus carrier as it moves towards Earth. A Preventer ship is on its way from the Moon Base, but Noin realizes that she didn't see see the new mobile suit in the battle with Heero and Duo and that it must be deploying somewhere else. The two decide to leave the L3 area and head to Earth sending a warining message ahead of them.

Quatre and the Manguanacs meet up with the scrap satellite carrying the gundams and prepare for crew members to space walk to it. Quatre tells the Corps that only he will go, which they complain about mightily, but he does reach the satellite and gets in, greeting the gundams with, "Hi. We meet again."

Heero and Duo watch as Mariemeia and Relena take off for Earth and Duo asks Heero if the Bartons are really planning to go through with Operation Meteor. Heero says they won't let them.

On satellite MOIII, we again see Dekim saying that his plans are perfect and that he's not like Quinze was. He launches an MS carrier towards Earth but a mobile suit appears suddenly and destroys it. It's Zechs Marquise in Tallgeese III. He tells Dekim to surrender and that Tallgeese has the ability to destroy MOIII, but Dekim counters that if Zechs does anything to block him, colony L3X18999 will be dropped on the Earth. Wu Fei heads out from MOIII in Altron, escorting several MS carriers.

On their shuttle, Mariemeia tells Relena about the true Operation Meteor and that it won't be necessary to carry through with it it the world submits to her rule. Relena realizes she was kidnapped to be used to make the entire process somewhat legitimate and to "appoint" Mariemeia to the highest position in the government.

Back on the scrap satellite, Quatre detonates the ships power system, hurtling the satellite towards Earth.

Heero and Duo blast into Dekim's main base on L3. In a voiceover, we hear Heero saying that the original plan for Operation Meteor was the put a colony into a spin such that it's balance at the La Grange point would be disturbed and the colony pulled out of orbit towards the surface of the Earth. He and Duo arrive at a control room where Trowa is trying to get L3X18999, which was going to be used as the drop colony, back into balance to save its population. Between the three of them they managed to do this. Duo recieves a message from Quatre that the satellite was intercepted in time and that the gundams are on their way. Heero asks Duo to have Quatre send his out seperately so that he can intercept it in space.

Back at MOIII, Zechs warns Dekim that he will begin destroying the satellite, which he does, but Dekim gets away in a shuttle at the last moment and heads for Earth. Zechs follows him.

Dekim's soldiers arrive at the door of the control room and Heero asks Duo to hit him. Reluctantly Duo does, only to have Heero punch him hard enough to make him pass out. Heero lays down as if unconscious while Trowa slings Duo over his shoulder. When the soldiers come in, Trowa says he's managed to stop them, then Heero gets up and runs for it, escaping the gunfire of the soldiers. Duo is dumped, rather unceremoniously, in a prison cell.
