Here are some Riddles every now and then I'll add some more. Try to work them out without the answers (they are at the bottom of the page).

1. A "Wise King" devised a contest to see who would receive the Princess hand in marriage.
The Princess was put in a 50x50 foot carpeted room. Each of her four suitors were put in one corner of the room with a small box to stand on. The first one to touch the Princess hand would be the winner and become the new King.
The rules of the test were that the contestants could not walk over the carpet, cross the plane of the carpet, or hang from anything; nor could they use anything but their body and wits (i.e. no magic or telepathy, nor any items such as ladders, block and tackles etc).
One suitor figured out a way and married the Princess and became the new King. How did he figure it out?

2. How is it that a person born in Massachusetts, whose parents were both born in Massachusetts, is not born a U.S. Citizen?

3.One morning a man is leaving on business trip and finds he left some paperwork at his office. He runs into his office to get it and the night watchman stops him and says, "Sir, don't get on the plane. I had a dream last night that the plane would crash and everyone would die!" The man takes his word and cancells his trip. Sure enough the plane crashes and everyone dies. The next morning the man gives the watchman a $1,000 reward for saving his life and then fires him. Why did he fire the watchman that saved his life.

4.Name an eight letter word that has kst in the middle, in the beginning, and at the end.

5.A wise King wants an honest child to take his place on the throne. He gives each of his 3 sons a pack of flower seeds and tells them that the one who grows the most beautiful flowers from these seeds will have his throne. Six months pass and the king checks the flowers. The first 2 had beautiful flower beds while the last child had nothing in his plot but weeds and no flowers. Yet, the king chose this child to have the throne. Why?

Answers

1. The successful suitor simply asked the Princess to walk over to where he stood and touch "his hand!"

2. That person was born prior to the establishment of the United States of America (ie, pre-1776)

3. He was fired for sleeping on the job! "Night" watchman :)

4. Inkstand - kst is in th middle. "In is the beginning, and "and" ends the word.

5. The 3rd son was the only one that didn't cheat. The King had baked the seeds so they wouldn't grow, which means the first 2 didn't use the seeds from the packet he gave them.
