Ok peoples. Redwall by Brian Jacques is a fabulous book, and I think you should read it. There is a stone abbey, called Redwall, because of its red walls(what else?). A young mouse, called Matthias, is a warrior wanna-be, and the spirit of Martin the Warrior goes into young Matthias to help him gather enough courage to find the sword, shield, and belt of Martin and fight off Cluny the Scourge and his evil army. Is there anything else I need to say? No, but just to mention Silent Sam, an incredibly funny squirrel, is my favourite character. This book does have a little gore in it, and I think is appropriate for kids maybe 10 and older.
Characters in Redwall:
Matthias:Nice, young, mouse. Our hero.
Silent Sam:Cute baby squirrel.
Jess Squirrel:Mother of Sam and best climber in Mossflower woods.
Basil Stag Hare:Hare with British accent and also a stag wanna-be.
Constance:Immense badger. Not very smart.
Methuselah:Wise old mouse. Official recorder of Redwall. Dies =(
Father Abbot:A fat, bumbling idiot.
Cluny the Scourge:Evil rat. The Bad Guy.
There we go for now, have fun! |
