| Tradition v.s. Christianity |
| The "Rare" and the "Conventional" defined!!! |
Tradition is another word for conventional, routine or normal. Conventional usually refers to "the way things have always been done" no questions asked. Routine generally refers to knowing your part whether in household duties or in society as a whole, so why "rock the boat"? Normal says only the radicals want "to be different". Tradition as a whole leaves no room for flexibility. It stifles all attempt for growth, it is a bondage that can grow deep in families.
Christians are rare, unique and unusual. Rare, denotes that they are hard to find in their true form. (that is believing that Heaven is a "free gift" as referred to in both Romans 6:23 and John 3:16, as well as other places in the bible).
Unique indicates a differentness of character and lifestyle. Unusual shows their desire to influence all those around them for their "Saviour"=Jesus. Christianity is a way of life, a radical, all consumed by God's purpose {reaching the lost} way of living in this land. The online routine part of Christianity is God, he never changes, he is always faithful and desires the believers to obey his word. [Acts 5:29]
Now I am not saying all traditions are unworthy, bad or unChristian. But, anything that does not align with the word of God(bible) is negative and not profitable to practice.
Some traditions are cultural customs especially in the U.S., the melting pot of the world, and that is great. However, racism in any form is better to eliminate. Such as: the Middle East holy wars, political wars in Poland and Ireland, terrorism on the Jews by the Russians and Germans and others. This situations have been passed down from generation to generation, traditions of hate. Our own country's caucasians against everyone else mentality is the same kind of tradition. The kind that if not brought to a "screeching" halt will kill us.
Our Saviour, Jesus, has given humanity an opportunity to go to Heaven, by dying for "all" sinners on the cross. No matter the race or country of origin, the "free gift" is extended to all "nations". Matthew 28:16-20 |
