My Aunt Louisa Ellen Jupp was a member of the WAAFs
and became the first war bride to move to Marion,
Indiana, following World War II. She had married then
Cpl. Ferdinand Grindle who was serving with the U.S.
Air Force stationed in England, and on Feb. 5, 1946
arrived in Gas City by train with her first two children,
who were born while she was in England.
