Heh, everyone! One of my devoted fans recently phoned to ask if I was still alive -- I guess it's time to update the newsletter!
I just wanted to let everyone know about my current projects and activities. If you have project ideas, or any need for writing services, please let me know. No project is too large or small; while working for another company, I wrote press kit material for Steinway & Sons pianos. And I recently helped a friend write a sentimental poem for her fiance's birthday. Whatever your writing needs, the Muse will not refuse!
Ladies Sampler
Linda White-Francis and I are very proud to report the publication of "To Be a Woman," the third issue of The Ladies Sampler. This issue uses humor, poetry, fiction and commentary to address the complex situation of modern women. Some of our contributors are published novelists and magazine writers (with credits that range from Reader's Digest to True Confessions to Doll World), while others are homemakers, students and retirees who just have something to say about being a woman.
I would also like to offer a very warm thanks to the contributors, subscribers and advertisers who have made the Ladies Sampler a dream come true for Linda and me.
Barbie
I recently accepted a p.r. assignment with Johnston's Hallmark, a store located at Westfield Shoppingtown Citrus Park in Citrus Park, Fla. On Nov. 16, this store will host appearances by Patricia Andrews, a retiring Barbie ornament artist; Clara Johnson Scroggins, a renowned ornament collector once profiled in "Better Homes and Gardens"; and Linda White-Francis, doll historian and Ladies Sampler co-editor. The Muse will be there, too, dressed as a Barbie (forgive me, my co-feminist friends -- though you have to admit ol' Barb is pretty cool. She's had every job known to humankind, manages to smile endlessly without the benefit of prescription mood enhancers, and has a hunky boyfriend to boot).
Illuminator
As a free-lance writer with the Illuminator, a publication of the Tampa Bay Harbour Lights lighthouse collectors society, I recently published a front-page story concerning the Internet chats available on www.harbourlights.com.
Sara Stone
I'm so proud of client and dear friend Sara Stone, paranormal investigator. She recently was profiled in The Tampa Tribune (who deemed her a 'real-life ghostbuster'), and will appear 7 p.m. this Wednesday at Jimmy B. Keel Regional Library, 2902 W. Bearss Ave. in Tampa. Reach her at (813) 748-9591, or visit www.maxpages.com/paranormalmoon.
That's all for now! See ya' next time.
