This Indenture of Bargain and Sale & Company
between Aden Jones, Thomas M Jones, Jefferson Godby,
Caroline, Ephrame, William & Elizabeth Godbey children c/o? of(?)
of L(T)avy(?) Godby. Silas G Jones, Catharine & her husband
L (T)J Godby, Samsen Jones children of A F Jones bruston(?)
G & George Godby, Syaid Hines & her husband Wm Hines,
Delila(?) Ashley & her husband Robert Ashley, Rebecca Richard
-son and her husband Reuben Richardson, Josiah Holms,
Joshua and Elizabeth R Desley? children of Sally Jones, Desc,
John F, Aden J, Josiah, Mary A E, Mahala J Rigney,
children of Mahala Jones ,Desc, Harrison, Thomas M,
J M, Sally & Elizabeth Godby children of Polly Godby, Desc,

Jones, desc and heirs at law of Thomas E Jones,
Desc by TW Wash(?) Commissioner of the first part
and Thomas M Jones of the second part witnesses.
Whereas a Judgment of the Casey Circuit Court between
Thomas E Jones?s adviser(?) and Thomas E Jones heirs &
Creditors. Debts rendered at the November Term 1857,
Joel Suecey(?) was appointed Commissioner to sell a
tract of land, adjudged to be sold, and on the
30th day of January AD 1858 said Commissioner
made said sale of forty five or fifty acres of
land directed to be sold in said judgment. Which
land was purchased by C R Coffey for the sum
of one hundred and Eighty one dollars subject to
the dower of Mrs. Thos E Jones therein and thereafter.
On the 25th day of August AD 1859 said C R Coffey
sold and transferred his title, of the purchase, of said
land to Thomas M Jones who has paid said purchase
money of $181. Said sale has been confirmed and
approved by this Court Nov term 1858. And at the
May Term 1871 TW Wash(?), was appointed Commissioner
and directed to convey said land to Thomas M Jones.
Now in consideration of the purchase the party
of the first part doth convey to the sd Thomas M
Jones & his heirs the said tract of land & rts upon
terrain lying in Casey County on the Rock Lick Creek
waters (subject to Mrs. Thomas E Jones Dower therein) forever.
And we bind ourselves to warrant and defend the
title to said land unto the said Thomas M Jones & his
heirs from the claim of all persons whatsoever, to the
assets we have derived from the estates of Thomas
E Jones, Deceased, given under our hand this 24th
day of May 1871.
