| The Weaver surname is a lot like the surnames Smith or Jones, there are unlimited family lines. I have been working on my Weavers probably close to 25 years. I started as a teenager talking to family members and writing for documents, then later I was on Prodigy for a while and was in contact with 3 or 4 people who were also researching the Weavers. I have sources for some of the information, but don't for others. There are a few people I've been able to reestablish contact with since then, some I have not. My dads Aunt published a family book about the Weavers and it's from that book that I started my researching, using the information that she had and going from there. I can credit her for instilling in me the strong resolve for documentation. She had the advantage of knowing her generation as well as her parents and grandparents and a great deal of what she wrote was based on oral tradition. Let me just say this, there are some people that criticize the book on the Weavers, some go as far as discrediting the book as incorrect. To risk offending some people I want to make a statement concerning her book. Some of you know me, you know how I feel about documentation, you also know how I feel about oral tradition, for those of you who don't know me, I HIGHLY respect both. If you plan to email me to criticize the validity of my Great Aunts book, don't. I do not support nor will I tolerate attacks on someone's research, oral or documented. I try very hard to keep an open mind. While parts of the book are incorrect, there are parts that are correct. If you simply want to email me and discuss the book or any of the information on the Weaver pages, please by all means do so. As I've stated on the home page of this website, I am always open to suggestions, corrections and additions, always. That being said, some people may know me by my maiden name, some by my first husbands name and some by my name now, in hopes that someone from the Prodigy days will recognize one of my names I'm going to list them here. On Prodigy I was known as RenaMarie or Rena Steenhoven. My maiden name is Rigney, which I usually use hyphenated with Voron, my married name now.
