The first thing I want to say about this pension file, is to apologize for the missing information. This is only a part of Richard Butt's pension file, I only copied the pages that were needed to prove that his first wife, Salle, was indeed a Rigney. I also had a very difficult time reading most of the handwriting in this file and therefore even what I have here has missing information, and for that I'm very sorry. As with anything else if anyone would like a copy of the pages I do have, please email me, maybe you can fill in some of the blanks.
What I have gotten from this file is that Richard and possible a brother, James lived in Casey Co., KY after the war, at least long enough for Richard and Sallee to marry and have children before they moved to MO.
Food for thought - under the Jones surname on this website, there is a land deed transcribed. There is listed in the deed, Mary Sophia and Alexander Butt, children of Catherine Jones, who was possibly the daughter of Thomas E. Jones of Caesy Co., KY. If any of the Butt family searchers out there know of any connection between these families and recognizes these names PLEASE email me. My g,g,g grandmother was Mahala Jones, 1st wife of George T. Rigney, and I believe another daughter of Thomas E. Jones and this has been a brick wall for a long time.
