On this 7th day of Sept, A.D. 1897, personally appeared before me
James Langford? Pulaski County Court Clerk in and for the aforesaid
county, duly authorized to administer oaths ______ E. White aged
65 years, a resident of Science Hill, in the County of Pulaski, and
state of Kentucky whose Post-Office address is Science Hill, KY.

I am well acquainted with claimant Aden J. Rigney and have known him
all his life and am ____ about the year 1885 the claimant lived uppon my
farm and I have often herd him complain of throat trubble and become
unable to do anything and was treated by Dr. H. L. Barber and he
continued to live on my farm & in the immediat neighborhood for
several years and he was affected all the time with said desease &
sometimes unable to do anything

Lincoln Co., KY. and D.W. Vandiver (?), residing at Stanford, Lincoln Co.,
Kentucky persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit,
and who, being by me duly sworn, say that they were present and saw
Aden C alias Aden J. Rigney, the claimant, sign his name (or his mark) to the
foregoing declaration; that they have every reason to believe from the
appearance of said claimant and their acquaintance with him for 15 years
and 15 years, respectively, that he is the identical person he represents
himself to be, and that they have no interest in the prosecution of this
claim, this 24 th day of August, 1891.

In the matter of Aden J. Rigney late Pt Co A 1st Rgt Ky Cav
Vols for Invalid Pension No 822.601
On this 9th dy of November, A.D. 1891, personally appeared before me
a Notary Public in and for the aforesaid County duly authorized to
administer oaths William Adams aged 49 years, a resident of Rowland
in the County of Lincoln and State of Kentucky well known to me
to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly swore,
declared in relation to aforesaid case as follows:
The affiant is well and intimately acquainted with the claimant and has
been for many years before the late war of the rebellion-That the claimant
come to name is Aden J. Rigney, and that he was enlisted as a private
in Co A. 1st Reg Ky Cavalry Vol and Aden J. Rigney, and that by
oversight of his commanding officer his name was improperly recorded
on the compnay rolls as Aden C. Rigney, when it should have been
Aden J. Rigney. Affiant has personal knowelge of the foregoing facts
because he was a Lieutentant of the Same Co and Regt and served their
fur? together and were both discharged at the same time and place.
His Post-Office address is Rowland, Lincoln Co Kentucky,
he further declares that he has no interest in said case and is not concerned
in its prosecution.

In the matter of Aden J. Hayden
On this 13 day of June, A.D. 1898, personally appeared before me
John A. Singlton, J.P.L.C. in and for the aforesaid County duly authorizzed
to administer oaths J.T. Terry aged 42 years, a resident of Linvingston in
the County of Rockcastle and state of Kentucky well known to me to be
reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn, declared in
relation to aforesaid case as follows:
That I marked for Ayden J. Rigney in the year 1876 and 1877 and
I remember he suffered from rheumatism and was doctored for same at that
time I further state that at times he was unable to do work on account of
rheumatisim I further state that I have seen Ayden J. Rigney often since
and he has always complained of rheumatisim at the time stated above I
worked for Ayden J. Rigney from Nov 18 until August 1877.
Post-Office address is Livingston Rockcastle I further declare that
I have no interest in said case and am not concerned in its prosecution.

Comrades Affidavit

On this 12th day of Dec 1900, personally appeared
before me an officer duly qualified to administer oaths in and
for the county and state aforesaid George W. Brown a resident
of Joyce, whose age is 59 years, after first being duly sworn,
state that he was a member in Co A 1st Ky Vol Cav in the war
of 1861-5 in same company and Reg with claimant Aden J. Rigney
and state as follows.
That sometime in the spring of the year 1862 in the state of KY
at or near a place called Weeb Cross Roads claimant was complaining
of his throat had it wrapt up for sometime when claimant was
furloughed home, at same time claimant was coughing mutch, often
affiant has heard claimant complaining of his throat and heard
him coughing all through his service up to claimant discharge on
the 31 day of Dec 1864. Since discharge up to about the year 1881 or 1882
did not see claimant often but from that date to the present time affiant and
claimant sees each other often and claimant is still complaining of his
throat and still has a cough that affiant is not interest _____
prosecutin of this claim that his post office address is Joyce in the
county of Casey, state of KY.

In the Pension claim of Aden J. Rigney, on this 24th day of December 1901
personaly appeared before me a County Clerk winthin and for the county
and state aforesaid duly authorized to administer oaths. William Adams
a resident of the county of Lincoln, KY whose age is 59 years whom to me
is well known and entitled to credit, after being duly sworn states in relation
to the aforesaid claim as follows:
That he has been acquainted Aden J. Rigney for about 45 years. that he was
2nd lieutenant of Company A 1st KY Vol Cav in the war of 1861-65 same company
and Reg with Claimant Aden J. Rigney and knows of claimant being sick at
or near a place called Webbs Cross Roads in the state of KY on or about
the month of January 1862. Had cough, high fever and spitting of blood. was
sick in camp about three weeks and was then sent to his home was sick at
home about two weeks and then went back to his Reg. while camped at a place
called Somerset in the state of KY claimant with other soldiers was vaccinated
from arm to arm which caused his arm to inflame to such extent for two or
more months and was not able for any duty for about one month. this the best
of my reccollection was some time in the later part of spring or fore part of
summer, 1863. Affiant states that claimant was a memeber of same company
and Reg together and knows from personal knowledge the statements
made, that affiant and claimmant has been well and personal acquainted, sees
each other often since our discharge that affiant personally knows of claimant
having rheumatism and also sore throat. That claimant has not for the last three
or four years been able to perform manual labor more than one fourth of his time,
that affaints post office address is Stanford, County of Lincoln, State of KY.

Private Co A 1 KY Vol Cavaly as I remember was sick about
April or May in 1862 Seamed to cough & had high feaver &
spit up some blood at times he was given a furlough & went
home & stayed two or three weeks & returned back to regament
& ____ vaccanated by Dr from some ours of Soldiers ______
so then inflamation of arm? for some time. I see Aden J Rigney
quite often and he complained of rhueumatism & other ______
a good deal & says that he can hardly go & that he is unable
to work any more & _____ is assianances? it looks like
it was true.

On this 22 day of February, A.D. 1902, personally appeared
before me a Justica of the Peace in and for the aforesaid County, duly
authorized to administer oaths James Spaw age 56 years, a resident of
near Winslow, in the County of Pike, and State of Indiana who Post
office address is Winslow Ind. well known to be reputable and entitled
to credit, and who, beind duly sworn, declared in relation to aforesaid
case as follows:
That he was a member and belonged to Company A 1st KY
Cav Vols during the civil war and that he was mustered into said
company & regiment September 16, 1863 at Knoxville Tennessee
and that Aden J. Rigney was a member of said Company and
regiment and that said Rigney and affiant were furlouged home
on November 20th, 1864 and that they traveled together on the
way home and that said Rigney at that time complained of paines
in his back, hips and knees and said Rigney was forced
frequently to stop on the road side on account of said pains
and he knew Rigney well at the time which made it very
difficult for him to get home.
He further declares that he has no interest in said case
and is not concerned in its prosecution.

In Reply to your request I have to state that AJ Rigney went home from
______ ____________ sickend with thoat trouble of some kind on or
about 8 of Mch 1862 was sent to hospital at Murphessborough twice
with throat or something _________ I have seen said Rigney since the
war often he was sick at my house on about 1874 or 1875 _____ ____
throat doctered by H. L. Barber. In the spring 1885 visited him he was sick
then an had been some time with throat and complain back. I have seen
Rigney often 40 years he com planes back and rhemumatisam and hes not able
to do but little work to doo jaust to hiself.

The affiant, J.F.Rigney, states that he is a citizen of Lincoln County, Kentucky, his post office address being Hustonville, KY; that he is 78 years of age, and is a brother of Aden J. Rigney, who died on the 8th day of January, 1920. He states that his brother Aden J. Rigney was married twice, his first wife being Amanda Smith, who died in the year 1872. He staes further that he knew Aden J. Rigney's first wife, and knows that she died in the year 1872 and prior to his marriage to his present wife, Mary E. Rigney. He states that he has lived in the same county and practically the same community with Aden J. Rigney and his present wife, Mary E. Rigney and knows that htey have lived togethr as husband and wife since their marriage on Nov, 28, 1876, until Aden J. Rigney's death on 8th day of January, 1920, and he has been personally acquainted with the present wife of QAden J. Rigney since their marriage and up to the present time, and that htey have never been divorced.

I state that I was with said Aden J. Rigney in the spring of 1872 and his neck and
side of face was broken out with pimples or sores and was under treatment of
Dr. H. L. Barber. This period of time in which I was directly associated with him
continued from Middle of April to some time in July 1872 and then in 1875 I was
again with him and have since been with him every now and then more or less
every year up to the present time and he complains with throat trouble other
diseases namely - costiveness and rheumatism and that he is not able to do
manuel labor I have no interest in said claim.

I have been intimatly acquainted with AJ Rigney since 1869 and know
he came to my house in the fall of 1873 sick with his throat had high
fevers bad cough and was constipated he had Dr. H. L. Barber called in
to treat him he was sick some time since that time. I have heard him
complain of Rheumatism weak back piles and stomach. For four or
five years has not been able to do manual labor.
