There once was a man who worked for a successful software company - as head cleaner of the male room. He dreamed of being promoted to the next floor of the mighty tower block, but his dream had never become a reality.
Although one day when he was cleaning the male room, he came across a roach scuttling across the floor. Just as he went to squash it, the roach cried out, 'If you spare me, I will grant you one wish.'
So the man spared the roach, and in return his one wish was granted, and the next morning he was promoted to the second floor of the tower block. His small flat became a fine townhouse, and he acquired his own office with personal computer.
But he became disheartened when he discovered there were more floors above him, so he returned to the roach and threatened to squash him if he didn't get another wish. So his wish was granted, and the next morning he began work on the third floor of the tower block.Although one day he was in the lift, and he saw that there were many other floors above his, and so he returned to the roach for another wish.
And so the next morning he began work on the top floor of the tower block. His townhouse became a mansion, and he acquired not only an office, but 6 secretaries to go with it.
Just when he thought he had it all, the man found a small staircase in the corner of his office. Curious, he climbed it and found himself on the roof of the building, where he saw a boy looking up to the sky.
He asked the boy what he was doing, and the boy replied that he was praying to God. The man asked, 'do you mean to say that there is a higher authority over people than mine? The boy replied that there was.
And this disappointed the man, and once more he returned to the roach for a wish. He requested 'I wish to have the authority that God would have if he was on earth.'
His wish was granted, and the next morning he began work cleaning the male room.
