Who we are:
Justin Anderson (21) - lead vocals, guitars
Mike Graff (20) - bass, vocals
Ryan DeYounge (22) - drums, vocals

Where are we from:
Minneapolis, MN, USA

How did we meet:
Justin and Ryan went to high school together in southern Minnesota, and when they both came up to the Twin Cities for college, they got together with Mike, and have been making music ever since.

How long have we been together:
2 years

Biggest highlight so far:

We got together with Kutless (Tooth&Nail Records) for a few shows last spring, and we really hit it off with them. Not only are they great musicians and SOLID Christians, but are also amazing people, and have become good friends of ours since.

Who inspires us musically:
Incubus, Blindside, Chevelle, Deftones, A Perfect Circle, and Switchfoot, to name a few.

Who inspires us spiritually
:
Oswald Chambers ("My Utmost for His Highest" is a MUST), Bill Hybels, Brennan Manning, Greg Boyd, and Elisabeth Eliott...the list goes on

Why do we do what we do:
We feel that we've been called into a ministry that allows us to pour out our hearts for the Lord and our love for others into our music. Music is our passion and desire that God has placed in us, and the chance to share His message with others by making music is a blessing beyond belief.
The name "mainstay" comes from a large rope that you see running up to the main mast on all sailboats. Under pressure, stress, and heavy weather, the mast would snap in half. That's why the mainstay is there -- the mainstay holds the mast in place, supporting it and holding it steady during all circumstances, both good and bad. That is what God is to us -- without Him, we would snap in half IMMEDIATELY. But with Him, we can stand up to whatever comes our way.
