The city by the bay, a city of discovery, where each

long Chinese New Year Festival and huge Downtown Parade each
February. North Beach where you can experience the Italian

is celebrated each October by a series of traditional events
that include a tribute to Christopher Columbus, a
re-enactment of Columbus's landing, blessing of the fishing
fleet and a Grand Finale of a rambunctious Street Parade.
Japantown, a five acre complex overflowing with sushi
bars, restaurants, a traditional Japanese village and five
tired pagoda and traditional Japanese items that can be
purchased makes a unique learning experience. The Cherry
Blossom Festival each April is a cultural event not to be
missed. Include the hippie district of Haight-Ashbury, the
Spanish district of Mission, the architectural and historic
area of Union Square, complete with its world renowned
shopping in your trip. No visit is complete with out a visit
to the largest urban national park in the world - the Golden
Gate National Park. GGNR Rangers regularly conduct nature
walks, Historical Walking tours and Environmental field
trips. Or a ride on the Powell Street Cable car. The
California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco Zoo, Bay Area
Museum and the Coyote Point Museum of Environment and many
more museums, galleries and theaters makes San Francisco
the ideal location for educational field trips.
