The Darker Side Of Light ©7-2001 by Soaring Heart Beware the cold icy tentacles of reality they slither in insidiously, Freezing all in their path. the first represents worry, Which ever so slowly erodes the things held most precious! Fantasy is replaced, with the brutal facts of truth. The simplest pleasure, is rendered impotent, As the tentacles stretch and slink into the very soul. dreams are thwarted at every turn. as the tentacles weave and emit their poisons, and what eludes the first, is imprisoned by the second, Self Doubt, which watches with glee, as it cripples passion... One by one, these demons enter, freezing out all in their path. The third,Fear, is silently working at it's heinous goal, of entering the spirit, and eating away at confidence, Not being sated till the spirit is humble, and destroyed.. The forth moves in..Quietly, so as not to be detected. Distrust. Perhaps the most feared and rightly so, as it causes such intense pain that the beholder screams in silent agony! And bit by bit, They work their way into every fiber of the being, till nothing remains, but a shriveled shell, while faith and hope are conquered.. and destroyed. And the monsters all, roar with glee.. as they are consumed all the realities of the world. the soul crawls on it's belly, arms outstretched, fingers grasping , bleeding trying desperately to reach the haven, the blessed place, the cave But falls short, just outside it's safety, And with eyes filled with tears, body wracked with loss, emits a soft final anguished moan, and dies.... |
