According to the United States Copyright Office, Library Of Congress
Copyright is a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States (title 17, U.S. Code) to the authors of original works of authorship, including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works. This protection is available to both published and unpublished works. Section 106 of the 1976 Copyright Act generally gives the owner of copyright the exclusive right to do and to authorize others to do the following:
1. To reproduce the work in copies or phonorecords;
2. To prepare derivative works based upon the work;
3. To distribute copies or phono-records of the work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease, or lending;
4. To perform the work publicly, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and motion pictures and other audiovisual works;
5. To display the copyrighted work publicly, in the case of literary, musical, dramatic, and choreographic works, pantomimes, and pictorial, graphic, or sculptural works, including the individual images of a motion picture or other audiovisual work; and
6. In the case of sound recordings, to perform the work publicly by means of a digital audio transmission.
7. In addition, certain authors of works of visual art have the rights of attribution and integrity as described in section 106A of the 1976 Copyright Act.
Special Notice:
"It is illegal for anyone to violate any of the rights provided by the copyright law to the owner of copyright. These rights, however, are not unlimited in scope. Sections 107 through 121 of the 1976 Copyright Act establish limitations on these rights. In some cases, these limitations are specified exemptions from copyright liability. One major limitation is the doctrine of "fair use," which is given a statutory basis in section 107 of the 1976 Copyright Act. In other instances, the limitation takes the form of a "compulsory license" under which certain limited uses of copyrighted works are permitted upon payment of specified royalties and compliance with statutory conditions. For further information about the limitations of any of these rights, consult the copyright law or write to the Copyright Office."

Our Policy
Gateway 2 Souls is dedicated to the authors who have influenced our lives through generations upon generations of divine floods of forever fluid words. We are dedicated to creating a place for a poet. Under no circumstances will we tolerate plagiarism. If you intend on copying a poem from any one of our pages we plead again for your respect to the poets. They have spent much time and energy bringing these wise words to you. Please do not violate this universal respect upon poets. Thank you.
The poets who post here take pride in what they write. We believe in Freedom of Speech. We are a site based in The United States of America. However we do not limit the minds of our poets, it does not matter their origin, race, ethnic background, sex, religion or lack their of. We are the Gateway 2 Souls and the bias should be dropped before our doors. This is a step towards unity. Not just within our countries walls, but the walls of the world. May we no longer judge one another or force our convictions upon one another. We do not do this at the Gate.
These old standards of one is better than another or one deserves less than another are not accepted here. We are working towards a new step in our evolution. Poetry is free here, and flows beyond the traditional understanding of what should and shouldn't be. It breaks boundaries of archaic thought and value systems that capture themselves within the wall of one paticular genre. We do not believe in genre. Our truth is that the possibilty of truth is out there, and that perhaps it is only up to ourselves to find what is truth to us, without the judgment or persecution of others. Please, if you have a problem with this concept, the possibility exists that you are not ready to visit the Gate, however it is up to you to proceed if you wish. We only want peace and unity. We are only trying to define ourselves.
