She Could Fly and Crawl
©2001 by Dan Burkett

I've collided, I'm unaccepted
I've decided I'm not offended
I've been loving with no heart breaking
She giving and I am taken her

To a new place where
She'll be taken high
Inside love where she'll be
Holding on to the light
She'll soar with angels
From the sky
And no one will
Take her place at all
She could fly
And she could crawl

She's flown and
She has dove in
With her own type
Of love within
You'd have to notice
Her heart's taken
And she can fly

To a new place where
She'll be taken high
Inside love where
She'll be from the sky
She'll soar with angels
Holing on to the light

(music goes on)

Hard Goodbye
©September 9, 2001 by Dan Burkett

For the record
I still love you
And I don't want
Anybody else to take you

So I look at the door
Put on my shoes
I wanna go see ya
But I really can't choose
I think about nothin'
I don't really wanna try
I only think about you
And watch time fly by

My thoughts are hard and fragile
Kinda like you
You're too easy to brake
I caught your eye and lost you
Because you only fake

For sensations
I think about you day and night
But I have complications
'Cause I want you to go
I want you to stay

So I sit on the floor
Think of what I'll lose
Think of what done
Ans let it all sink through
Let the pain endure
And let life go on
Hold on to God
Because he's here....and you're gone

My thoughts are hard and fragile
Just like you
You're too easy to break
I caught your eye
You took my life
You don't give, you only take

Now you're gone
You said goodbye
Where is the good from the bye?
Now my eyes are crying for you
But I know I could've done better than you
So I'll leave you alone with him
I guess that fight was meant not to win

My fights are to hard to nadle
Just like you
You make me shake
Lovin' you is like a gamble
But you're betting me
I'm on the stake

Taken For Worth
(c)September 5, 2001 by Dan Burkett

Gone to rest
With the rest of the angels
Flying up to heaven
Leading with the soul
Holding on with a heart
Memories raining over nature
Running from everything known
Not caring what was left behind
The eyes were captured
It was all held in a breath
With every lake dry
The angels rejoiced
With a new baby from below
It came with a small sense of life
But it portrayed what the Lord had to show
Knowing the best, he had to follow the worth
By seeing his mom
And being taken form birth

An Angel Lies
(c)September 5, 2001 by Dan Burkett

She pulls her hair back
Looks down to see us
Our lives run off track
She's pleading for us

There were no answers
Because there were no questions
It all was cancer
Full of hesitations

And I don't know why
This world keeps closing in
I'm looking down at the sky
And I'm outside looking in
And I don't know who
Told you I'm a fake
But I want you to know
Even an angel can make a mistake...like you

She cries another chance
For a put-a-way back in store
She wants to advance
To what she had before

Because she had a head full of questions
She could find her answers
Smooth with no hesitations
As beautiful as a dancer

And I don't know why
This world keeps closing in
I'm looking down at the sky
And I'm outside looking in
And I don't know who
Told you I'm a fake
But I want you to know
Even an angel can make a mistake...like you

I just don't know why
I'm outside looking in
I don't know who
But come back into our view
I'm looking down at the sky
Watching angels make mistakesI want you to know
That I am not a fake

Come and tell me
Who said I'm a mistake
Was she short with green eyes
Because she'll kiss and take

She'll lie to you
She'll lie to anyone who gets into her way

This Day
(c)August 25, 2001 by Dan Burkett

My life has been pain
And it started on this day
I woke up early
And walked around my memories
I should've cried in some
I wanted to die in some
This place makes me want life more

What would happen
If a cherished memory
Got cut by a pain that longs?
Would the outcome be nothing
Or should we expect the unexptected
And be fooled by our minds once again?

How should it be and why are we here?
Why do we wait so long
And try to hold on to that unfairness

Everything here is so loud
And it only lasts for a minute or two
Thinking about it takes up my mind
I wish it would run away forever

Fall Down
(c)September 8, 2001 by Dan Burkett

Oh
And you
And you fall
And no there
And no care
And nobody there
Will try to care

I share my bread
Pick up a soul dead
And when a child
Starts to fall
If you can't stand
Get down and crawl

When life turns its back on you
Everything will die except you
No one will try no more
Even if you tried you would fail
Like getting no where, being in jail
Growing up would be of pain
Blinding, killing, bulletproof train

I share my bread
Pick up a soul dead
And when a child
Starts to fall
If you can't stand
Get down and crawl

Regulars
(c) August 25+26, September 4, 2001 by Dan Burkett

This pain never goes away
This light seems to cheer me
But the pain still remains
The fact of it may be waste
But the failure will never change
I still wanna touch your face
The sky is falling down on me
And it always seems to rain

Day by day I'm in this silence
And I push away every hand I should hold
My fingers shaken and cold
As my body battles my mind
I'm trying to find my stories untold
Because my appearance is temporarily signed

My conscience is blinding me
But at minimum, it does remain
My eyes are wanting just one need
But every choice is held
Like time standing still in a frame
Each picture is a dream to fulfill
I deny it, but I should take the blame

End Of Times
(c) 2001 by Dan Burkett

Why won't you shut up
And listen to me
Someone somewhere is going down a drain
Your life will never
Live up to half that pain

The end of life always peers
And it will never care for your tears

Your outstretched hand will be
Cut off and ruined
Your search for life will
Forever be neverending

Your search will end when the dust
Of a sand dune composes your lungs
Every throat wil be clogged and never
Again will a song be sung

This will be the end of times
And all your past choices live up to it
Live it to the full
By living it right
Never doubt it
And you should live to such standards
Or you shall face the end of your times
