William Thomas Gamel the second child of Ayers and wife
___________was born 6/9/1811 in Georgia and died 7/23/1895 near Yorksville, Georgia. He died of a heart attack while picking watermelons. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He married Mary Ann Weaver (Butler?) in 1835 in South Carolina. Mary Ann was born in 1814 in South Carolina. and died in 1905 in Yorksville, Georgia. William Thomas and Mary Ann (Weaver) Gamel are buried at the Yorksville Cemetery in Georgia.
After they married in South Carolina they returned to Upson County, Georgia to make their home where he was farming. Their first son Henry H. Gamel was born in Upson County.
William, Mary Ann and Henry moved to Yorksville, Paulding County, Georgia in 1837. The other nine children were born there.
William and Mary Ann had ten children. Four of their sons and 2 of their son-in-laws fought in the Civil War.

4. John B. Gamel born 1844 in Yorksville, Ga. died 1/25/1862.
5. William Thomas (Will) Gamel born 6/12/1845 in Yorksville, Ga. died 6/12/1924 in Sylacagua,Alabama.
6. Charley C. Gamel born 8/24/1847 in Yorksville, Ga. died 8/13/1928 in Pallemento, Georgia.
7. Benjamin Franklin Gamel born 5/28/1849 in Yorksville, Ga. died 2/1/1920 in Gustine, Texas.
8. Nancy Jane Gamel born 1855 in Yorksville, Ga.
9. James Lemuel Gamel born 1855 died 1938 in Alabama
10. Joseph Willis Gamel born 12/2/1856 in Yorksville, Ga. died 3/1/1910 in Yorksville, Georgia.
