Henry Howard Gamel the first born of William Thomas and Mary Ann Gamel. He was born 10/8/1837 in Upson County, Georgia and died 8/20/1917 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He moved with his parents to Paulding County, Georgia when he was 2 months old. Henry married Ruth Ann Motes in 1860 in Georgia.
Ruth Ann was born in 1836 and died 4/18/1916 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Henry attended church at Pumpkin Vine Baptist Church. They lived on Pumpkin Vine Creek, Georgia
He entered the Civil War in 1861 in Carrolton, Georgia. Henry was in Company C of the 30th regiment state of Georgia. He was badly wounded in the shoulder in the Battle Of Resika, Georgia. He was taken captive in Carrolton, Ga.,
then taken to Camp Chase Prison in Ohio, where he stayed until Lee's surrender. Henry served three years in the service until 1864. When Henry was released he went to Alabama. He reunited with Ruth Ann Motes (wife) and son Henry Franklin. Henry and Ruth Ann lived in several states - Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and Oklahoma.
He lived his last eight years in Muskogee, Oklahoma. His wife Ruth Ann is buried beside him.

Henry Franklin Gamel born 11/14/1864 in Ga. died 9/26/1939 in Salisburg, N.C. Married Elizabeth Childers on 1/3/1884 . Elizabeth was born 1864/65 and died 5/1/1937 in Salisburg, N.C. They are buried in Chestnut Cemetery in Salisburg, N.C.

Henry H. second wife was Luttie Micky Davidson whom he married 10/5/1916 in Tupelo,Ms. Luttie was born 9/9/1892 in Baldwin Ms. died 1/22/1947 in Decatur,Illinois. Her parents were Benjamin Hodge and Alice (White) Davidson. Davidson County, Tennessee was named after this family. Mrs. Aice (White) Davidson was Cherokee Indian. Henry and Luttie had 4 children.
