GT Advance Championship Racing
Being quite a big fan of racing games I was quite pleased to see this title shaping up well. Most racers on the current Game Boy Color have been very disappointing, and not very fun to play, so it will be interesting to see how the Game Boy Advance will cope with this genre.
GT Advance Championship Racing features 32 tracks and a large variety of cars from seven real manufacturers, which can be upgraded. As with most racing games on all platforms, you won't be able to access all the cars and tracks to start with. It will take plenty of racing to gain access to all the extras. And there's even the promise of extra racing modes to be opened.
The graphics look very nice, both the track and sprites are looking good. As with other GBA racers, this uses the Mode 7 technique, which allows the developers to create an illusion of 3d.
I have watched video footage of this game, and from that it is easily noticeable that you are required to use a 'powerslide' technique to race effectively, this style of racing has been seen most commonly in Sega's arcade racing titles. [Don't forget Mario Kart and Ridge Racer! - JskieXL]
This looks like one promising racing game, and should finally give us Game Boy players the essential racing game we really need.
