THE GADGETS ARE an Athens,GA rock band made up of four regular guys from South Georgia: Adam Eidson, Mark Doyal,
Bert Baranko, and W. Josh Bentley. They got together in Albany,GA in 1995 after Mark and Josh's previous band, the dearly departed Squeal, went the way of Cop Rock. They played and played and played their little butts off in Albany and all of South Georgia, and decided that they were pretty good at this rock thing. SO in the summer of '96 the Gadgets trekked to Athens to record with Andy Baker(of Servotron)at Rock Central Studios.The result was NOT FUNNY HA-HA, a collection of songs released in February 1997 on the band's own Floor Tile Records imprint. THEN the band decided to move to the friendly climes of the Classic City, which half the band did that summer. The Gadgets quickly played Athens fabulous 40-Watt Club, and then proceeded to do diddly, as Mr. Bentley recovered from an August car accident and Mssrs. Baranko and Eidson kept not moving up. BUT with the whole band in town and Josh up and walking quite nicely, expect the Gadgets to deliver the rock in a town near you (as long as that town houses UGA and Jittery Joe's) very, very soon.
