Tenderness
A Tear

A young boy on his journey through life, is taught values that
are essential in helping him mature into manhood. Throughout this
endeavor he is taught many different skills and ideals. This type of
learning process covers a broad spectrum of standards that are
essential in developing his leadership qualities. These qualities
prepare him not only for the work world but also for being head of his own
household. He is taught to be strong yet flexible , understanding but
firm , tough but not too tough, demanding but durable, and bend but
never break in the stormy winds of life.

The most valuable lesson in life is one that men seem to
intentionally overlook. It is seldom spoke of, rarely addressed and
almost never mentioned because it is associated with weakness. It
is a trait that strikes fear into the hearts of most men. This great
quality is known as emotion and is associated with tenderness , caring and an
occasional tear. Although it is essential in life, men tend to avoid it at
all cost because they do not understand its importance.

It is a proven fact that it is extremely healthy to express outward
emotion. It is perfectly alright for a man to have tender feelings and to
shed an occasional tear. Tears are not a sign of weakness but of
compassion, love, understanding and much much more. They are
also a way to relieve the stress that hinders our ever day lives.
It is quality that shows others that we are caring human beings and can openly
exhibit emotions . It helps us to realize that life is not always rigid and
tough but has a fragile side that must be addressed and nurtured.

Unfortunately men tend to hold their feeling inside, for many
reasons. This type of behavior causes extreme stress within the mind
and body to the point that it can affect ones health. It has been
known to cause extreme discomfort and permanent damage to the hearts. The
saddest part of all is that it is a self inflicted problem that is caused by
the lack of understanding and may be avoided just by showing
outward emotions .

What truly makes a great leader or head of household is not just
the ability to take charge. One must understand the feelings and needs
of others and be able to share and express them openly. A true leader
should be well rounded in all that he does and be able to shed a tear
when needed .

For such proof is written about the Greatest Leader that every
walked on the face of this earth, “ Jesus wept”.
