Often in life we experience many difficult situations on our
quest to find someone to share our life with. Sometimes we
attempt to achieve happiness through the bonds of marriage,
only to watch it dwindle away for one reason or another. We
feel incomplete, blaming ourselves for what we seem to have
had no control over. At first the task seems to be more than we
can handle but as we learn to endure, it seems to becomes
easier. Hopefully we become stronger as we learn to depend
on ourselves.
While searching to find another to trust, one that will
again fulfill our needs and desires, we tend to look in all the
wrong places. The people we meet seem to be hunting for prey
rather than seeking a meaningful relationship. Companionship
and compassion seem to be a lost feeling rather than a
priority, causing us to feel alone in our quest for happiness.
Hardened by the hand that life has dealt, we withdraw within
ourselves, relying on no one, asking nothing and wanting even
less, avoiding the hassles that tend to go along with the never
ending search for happiness .
We long to sit across the table sipping coffee or breaking
bread with a person who wants to explore our inner most
feelings and just wants to be our friend, for no special reason
other than they enjoy our company. In reality we are looking
for someone to fill our loneliness by sharing similar feelings
and thoughts. Often we wonder , are we asking too much?
I came across a group made up of people much like myself.
Most of them have endured similar situations and are
searching for happiness and fulfillment in a similar manner.
They offer numerous types of activities and functions that
allows us to meet others with similar likes and dislikes,
which allows us the flexibility to be involved in things we are
familiar with and can readily enjoy. Through our active
participation we meet others who not only respect our feelings
but understand our concerns, and are willing to share these
things through the bonds of friendship .
Thank you Lord for answered our prayers and allowing
us to share what is in our heart with others that not only
understand but accept us for who and what we are.
Sleep well my friend wherever you may be
