Precious Moments

As we walk through this complex world, we face many dilemmas that seem too difficult to handle. The burdens of life seem to overpower us and consume our very existence. We feel a tightness in our chest as our hearts become filled with anguish. It becomes difficult to breath and our desire to live becomes challenged by the absence of a loved one.

Our minds become confused and our judgment impaired. We tend to act irrationally, causing problems in our lives with those loved ones that still remain. Sometimes we tend to withdraw from our families because they remind us of those that have passed on. Some of us may not handle death very well, possibly blaming ourselves for their demise. Perhaps there was something we wanted to say or do and because of a loved one's sudden death, we never got to say or do it, so we blame ourselves.

What we tend to forget is, all the beautiful things we shared and enjoyed with the deceased loved one. Looking at a beautiful sunrise, the smell of a rose, the sound of a singing bird, a cricket bouncing across the ground, the effortless flight of a butterfly, an eagle soaring though the sky, a beautiful meadow filled with wild flowers, a gorgeous sunset glistening off the water, and many more beautiful memories that will never be forgotten.

Perhaps our loved ones are not here to share and enjoy them but their presence will always be in our hearts. The memories of those special moments help us cope with those difficult times. Each time we experience one of those moments, we should smile and feel complete, knowing in our hearts, just how special they really are to us, for they hold our most precious and sincere thoughts.

Although death is a part of life, God does not want us to be alone in this world. He has given us all these beautiful things to remind us just how precious and complex life really is. When everything seems to difficult to handle, take a deep breath and think of those precious moments and the people you miss most. God has taken them home and they are now part of all that is around us, making our memories even more special and complete.

For those that remain with us please be patient; with God's help time will heal all wounds.
