Autumn
Natures lesson

It was a stormy overcast November morning. As the dawn
approched I could see the clouds on the horizon being tossed
accross the morning sky by the fierce winds of autumn. The color
of the clouds changing from soft white to dark grey, gave the
appearance as though the skies were angry and disrought. This
anger was quickly offset by short intervals of sunshine peering
through the darkened clouds .

Looking out over the river and her banks, I could see the
beautiful colors of autumn all around me, as the leaves fell from
the trees ,decorating the ground with their radiance. There colors,
consisted of many different shades of browns, reds, oranges and
even yellows. It was as though mother nature was painting a master
piece before my eyes, just for me.

Other signs of autumn were also evident. The squirrels were
gathering and storing food for the long cold months ahead. The
black birds flocked together in their search for food and
nourishment. The geese gathering on the river in preperation for
their long journey south. All of these were sure signs of the
transition in the season that was about to take place..
.
It was at that point that I realized that there was a lesson to be
learned from what was presently occuring all around me. We must
look all around us, keeping an open mind, enjoying what we see
and learn from it. Life is not as confusing as we make it out to be,
for God has made it simple and easy to understand. Life is just like
autumn!

The trees are like our lifes, constantly changing and
renewing themselves . The winds are like the turmoil that we face
everyday , blowing to and fro, constantly changing all the things
that are around us .The sky may become dark and clouded but the
sun always seems to be close by to enlighten our day. Life is not
always sunshine and warmth , sometime s it is cold and bleak, with
violent winds blowing ,creating havoc and destruction in our lives.
Through all this we seem to endure and carry on to face yet
another day.

There are days when our lives are bright and filled with
sunshine and beauty, and there are others that are bleak and
dismall and filled with storms and confusion. The things that keep
us in the right frame of mind are the days when the sunshine peers
though the dark clouds ,brightening our day, reminding us that God
is the light of the world.

Sleep well my friend wherever you may be
