Movie: Scream
Rated: R (Thematic events and Neve Campbell's nude back)
Mallahan and Bennett Rating:$$$$$

Review: We've seen this movie so many times we know it by the back of our hands. It's a classic horror movie that will be remembered for all time. It started the whole teen-horror movie fad. Scream's great plot will keep on the edge of your seat, biting your nails, wondering who will die next. It also features a great cast with a mixture of stars and actors who used this movie for their big break.
Sidney Precott(Neve Campbell) is a troubled teenager who is just getting over her mothers murder. A year after this horrific event murders start to occur supposidly by a ghost-faced killer. Gale Weathers(Courteney Cox Arquette) is the tabloid journalist with her own show Top Story. Gale is around wherever she can to get the scoop on the murders with help from town deputy, Dwight 'Dewey' Riley(David Arquette). Who will survive, who will be killed, and who will be unmasked as 'the killer'?
Jamie Kennedy and Matthew Lillard add a few laughs to the film. Other cast includes Skeet Ulrich, Rose McGowan, and Henry Winkler. There are also cameos from Drew Barrymore(Ever After), Linda Blair(The Exorcist), and Screams very own director Wes Craven(Master of Suspense) who plays Fred the Janitor. See if you can spot him!
Another great thing about this movie is that it makes fun of itself and other movies of the horror genre. Such as "the rules of a horror movie". Courteney Cox Arquette gives a dazling performance, though we couldn't expect anything less from her. Her character is so different from all of her other roles and we think that thats cool that she can put such depth and range between each of them. We couldn't picture anyone else doing it.

Movie: The Kid
Rated: PG (its for kids...Didnt you read the title?)
Mallahan & Bennett Rating: $$$

Review:
One summer day we were bored out of our minds so we decided to go see a movie. The perfect storm didn't look to appealing to us so we picked The Kid. Being 14 year olds we felt a bit out of place in a PG movie theater but we delt with it because we wanted to see the cute little kid(Spencer Breslin). About 45 minutes through the movie Russ(Bruce Willis) goes to a business lunch witha harry man. We realized who it was. Matthew Perry! Justine(Mallahan) yelled out "Oh my gosh that's Matthew Perry!" We had popcorn and things thrown at us but we didn't care. Matthew Perry was so funny in his 5 minutes on screen.
The movie is about a grown man named Russ who is an image consultant. Russ one day finds his young self, Rusty, (Spencer Breslin) in his house eating his food and watching cartoons. So Russ has to try to find out how to get Rusty back to his own time.
Other Stars in this movie include Emily Mortimer(Scream 3), Lily Tomlin (voice on Magic School Bus), and Chi McBride(Boston Pulic). This movie was very cute and some parts will make you cry.

Movie: The Runner
Rated: R (for the repeated use of the F-Word)
Mallahan&Bennett Rating:$$$$

Review: One day on David Arquette's birthday we were at the video store renting movies that he was in. We started sorting through the movie bin of movies you could by and something caught our eye. It was a movie called The Runner which starred Courteney Cox Arquette. As it turns out David Arquette also had a small role in the movie playing a bartneder. We had never heard of the movie before hand, we figured because it is independent, and were happy to find another movie that Courteney C.A. is in.
The movie is about a guy named Edward who has a massive gambling problem. One day his uncle Rocko screws him over by telling him he should become a runner for Deepthorat (John Goodman).A Runner is someone who earns more money for their Boss,(for example Deepthroat)by betting. When Edward and Rocko are "working" they run into Karina(Courteney Cox Arquette) who is a waitress at the casino. Edward and Karina start to date. Will Edward be able to keep his gambling binges to a downlow? Or will he ruin his life and Karina's too?
Ron Eldard (Drop Dead Fred, and we saw him on ER i think during the first season) gave a very convincing performance as a gambling addict. John Goodman an actor who in our eyes used to be REALLY funny was not what we thought of him after seeing this movie. His character is really desturbing and horribly mean!! When you see this movie you will totally understand! Courteney Cox Arquette gives a roofus(great) performance. This role is REALLY different than any of her other one's. We like that because it shows what a great actress she is. We like it so we think anyone should go and see it. You'll never forget it, we won't.

Movie: It's the Rage
Rated: R (cuz its shitty)
Mallahan & Bennett Rating: $$

Review:
We stummbled upon this movie one day at the movie store. The second we saw the cover we decided to rent it becuse let's face it we only watch movies for the people who are in them and there were a lot of cool people in this movie.
You can't really say much about this movie without giving away the endings. So here's what we can tell you. The movie centers around the lives of ten people. Each charactar has a interesting past which comes back throughout the movie. The cast of the movie has many famous people in it. For instance David Schwimmer who plays a gay guy. He adds a little bit of comic relief to the dramic film along with Giovanni Ribisi. He plays Anna Paquin's scitzofrenic brother. Anna Paquin is a badass. Which is surprising for those of you who know her from Fly Away Home, a movie about a farm girl who raises ducks. Others in the cast are Joan Allen (The Contender), Jeff Daniels(Fly Away Home, Arachnaphobia), Gary Sinise(Mission to Mars, Forrest Gump), and Bokeem Woodbine(The Runner, 3000 Miles To Graceland).
When we read the back of the movie we thought it was going to be better than it really was. But it had good parts. Especially the scenes with David Schwimmer and Giovanni Ribisi.

Movie: The Whole Nine Yards
Rated:R (gansta violence and Amanda Peet totally nude)
Mallahan & Bennett Rating: $$$$$

Review:
We were at the video store (like always) looking for a good movie for our sleepover. We were scanning through the new releases looking for a cool new movie to rent. When we got to the W's we were overjoyed to find that The Whole Nine Yards had finally come out on video.
The movie stars Matthew Perry (The Kid, Three To Tango) as Nick Ozeranski, a dentist who finds out that a hit man has just moved in next door. Jimmy "the tulip" Tadeski, played by Bruce Willis (Die Hard, and The Kid), is hiding from one of his enemies. He starts to grow fond of Ozz, although Nick is still quite terrified in the presence of the notorious hit man.
Rosanna Arquette (Joe Dirt, Pulp Fiction) plays Nick's incredibly mean wife. Michael Clark Duncan (The Green Mile, See Spot Run) plays an accomplice to Jimmy. Rounding out the cast is a new comer Amanda Peet (Tv's: Jack and Jill). She is Nick's secretary.
Over all, the movie is hilarious and cool. Matthew Perry is extremely humorous, we were laughing pretty much through the whole movie. Also, the plot line at the end gets pretty interesting, so go out and rent it!!

Movie: Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
Rated:PG-13 ("The Crying Game" shower scene)
Mallahan & Bennett Rating: $$$$$

Review:
"Yeah, and you're ugly." Ace Ventura is so classic that you will never get sick of it. The lines, like the one above, will be remembered and quoted by us for years to come. We've been watching since it came out, even though our parents didn't want us to.
Stars Jim Carey, Courteney Cox Arquette, and Dan Marino; who may we say should have won an Oscar for his brilliant portrayal of a football player.(When somthings in italics, it's the "sarcastic font." That's copywrited...E!, Stop stealing our ideas!) Jim(we're on a first name basis) plays the maniac, Ace, who is a Pet Detective. His next assignment: to find the mascot, snowflake, of the Miami Dolphins. Courteney Cox Arquette plays Melissa, who is a publicist for the Dolphins. Both work together to find snowflake before the big game(the Superbowl).
Every scene in this movie makes us laugh hysterically! Especially where Ace is pulling a "mission impossible". See it, and you'll know what we're talking about. If you didn't laugh once during this movie, you are MESSED UP.

Movie: Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion
Rated:R (for Janeane Garofalo)
Mallahan & Bennett Rating: $$$$$

Review:
We rediscovered this movie in the last two years. We saw it on T.V. in seventh grade, being 9th graders now, and realized how funny it was all over again.
Starring Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino as Michelle and Romy, two 28-year-old best friends. They've been roomates in California since high school in Arizona. The story is it's time for their ten year high school reunion. Hillarious flashbacks to their high school days are well worth the rental. Romy and Michelle try to make themselves successful in the week before the reunion...we won't say more than that.
The supporting characters keep the laughs comin'. Janeane Garofalo and Alan Cumming play the bitch and the nerd from the high school days.
Lisa Kudrow is hillarious/good in all of her roles, but we especially like her as a "stupid" person.

Movie: Leprechaun
Rated: R (for leprechaun violence and Jennifer Aniston swearing)
Mallahan & Bennett Rating: $$$

Review: Okay, its one of those days durring the summer where everyone's on vacation and you have nothing to do...so what is there to do? Rent classic "pre-Friends" movies. Its our only excuse to rent them. Mallahan remembered a movie she saw on TV once like five years ago called Leperchaun. And what are the odds (What ARE the odds??)...Jennifer Aniston STARS in one of the greatest (90's) horror flicks of all time!
The story begins when Tory (Jennifer Aniston), a big city girl (who will only eat watercrest salad and Evian water) moves to a teency North Dakota town. Oh yeah and her dad's there too (we barely notice, hes not in the movie that much). While moving, Tory encounters three painters who are painting her new, grimy, cobweb infested, ancient house. "The Three Guys Who Paint" acctually named Ozzy, Alex, and Nathan "the Stud". They have no idea what's lurking in the depths of the deep dark basement.
Surprisingly Leprechaun is a good time, and Jennifer Aniston is full of campy lines and witty remarks. "It's not a leprechaun dammit!" You might think this movie is just another cheesey horror flick, but give it a chance like we did. As we said above, there are parts where we laughed hysterically. Blame the 90's for the scary wardrobe the characters in this movie have (like L.A. Gear shoes AHhhh!). But seriously folks, this leprechaun is scary; and its acctually a real live man! If you really end up liking this movie...theres FOUR other sequels. One featuring Ice T...you know you want to see it now! Lets hope Jennifer Aniston isn't ashamed of this movie.
