Courteney was born June 15th, 1964 in Birmingham, Alabama. Her parents divorsed when she ten. Her parents both remarried. She has three siblings. After finishing high-school she attendend one year of collage at Mount Vernon collage to become an architect. Through a friends of her fathers she became a model at the Ford modeling agency.
She started to make movies. In the late 80s early 90s she was in movies such as, I'll Be Home For Christmas, Cacoon 2:The Return, Blue Dessert, Masters Of the Universe, and Mr.Destiny. (She was in a lot more but I don't remember them all!) In 1989 she started to date actor Michael Keaton. In 1994 Courteney starred oppossite Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. The movie was a hit even though critic's hated it (we think it 's hillarious. Who cares what critic's think.) Later that year she was cast as Monica Geller on the TV show F*R*I*E*N*D*S. The TV show was a hit. In 1995 Courteney and Michael Keaton broke up. Courteney's movie carrer continued in 1996 when she starred as Gale Weathers in the movie Scream. This movie started off slow, but by word of mouth this movie made a lot of money, even setting a record for horror movies. At the MTV movie awards that year Scream even won best movie.
Friends still continued to score with fans and critics alike. Next up for Courteney was the movie Commandments. Then the much anticipated sequal to the movie Scream, Scream 2. Where she starred with the survivors from the first film, David Arquette, Jamie Kennedy, and Neve Campbell. But this time it seems Courteney fell in love on set(okay there are conflicting stories of when the first began to date,but this is one of them). Her costar David Arquette. Their characters (Gale & Dewey for you who havn't seen the movie) are an on again off again couple in the movies. So isn't it just perfection they fall in love in real life! :) This movie was also a hit. After Scream 2 she starred in the independant movie, The Runner(ohoh and David A. has a small part as a bartender,that link takes you to the movie review).On June 12th 1999 her and David declared their love by getting married. Right after this they filmed the third and final Scream movie. This was also great and Courteney and David won a Teen Choice Award for their chemistry in Scream 3. Who cares about Emmy's, teenagers are hard to win over.
Friends is still one of the highest rated shows on TV. Looks like only one more season of Friends(*tear, tear* but it had to end sometime, 10 years is a long time). Courteney is in talks to star in a new movie as well(see main page for more info).We'll all see continued success in the years to come.
