Four Types of Sentences
The DECLARATIVE sentence states a fact. It ends with a period.
Every student learned ten new words.
The INTERROGATIVE sentence asks a question. It ends with a question mark.
How did they learn so many words?
The EXCLAMATORY sentence expresses surprise, disbelief, or deep feeling. It ends with an exclamation point.
I can't believe she is correct!
The IMPERATIVE sentence gives a command or begs. It usually ends with a period, but a strong command may end with an exclamation point.

The Plural of Nouns
Rule 1: Most nouns become plural by adding the letter s to the singular.
dog - dogs
Rule 2: For words ending in s, x, z, sh, or ch add es to form the plural.
box - boxes
Rule 3: If a noun ends in y and is preceded by a consonant, change the y to i and add es.
penny - pennies
Rule 4: If a noun ends in o and is preceded by a consonant, add es to form the plural. (There are exceptions to this rule.)
echo - echoes
Rule 5: If a noun ends in o and is preceded by a vowel, add s to form the plural.
radio - radios
Rule 6: To form the plural of a noun ending in f or ef, change f to v and add es.(There are exceptions to this rule.)
knife - knives
