Level Skip
For this cheat you need the V 1.33patch installed first. At any time during the game press and hold “control shift alt and end” after a few seconds the mission completed screen will come up and you will move along to the next level.

Secret places in the game.
In Lord Bafford’s manor (level 1) when you go into the garden on the second floor you will see some stairs, if you go up these stairs and look around you will se a curtain with the LORD BAFFORD emblem on it. Get out you sword and swipe at it to cut it down. Behind it you will find a secret passage that takes you to the room next to the room with Lord Baffords scepter in!

Also on level one, when you are in the streets at the start turn to you right and go through the arch (not the one that takes you to the guards.) Keep walking until you come to another stone arch and look left and in the wall are some water arrows and broadhead arrows for you.

Another secret place on the same level is when you go into the well, if you choose to go that way, swim along until you reach the big circle of water. When you get there dive down and turn left, you will see a passage there. When you get through it you will be on the other side in a shallow pool. On the side there is a treasure chest with loads of gold in it, but be careful because there are two evil giant spiders that will try and stop you.

OTHER TIPS
To get lots of free arrows go to one of the booby traps and throw something on the trigger. This way it will repeatedly shoot out arrows until you take the object off the trigger. You can collent as many of them as you want and go on a killing spree!!

If you want to jump from a high place but don’t want to make any noise then crouch before you jump. This will not make noise unless you land on a loud surface like a wooden floor.

AI ACTIONS AND REACTIONS

A. The enemies have different levels of awareness to your presence. They are…..
1. Not aware of you
2. Think someone is there, but not sure.
3. Saw or heard something and searching.
4. Know you are there.
B. The important thing to know is that you are still safe if he just thinks you are there. You can either hide, or quietly make and escape to a safer area. Listen to the things the enemy says. They are clues to his awareness. If they say something like “Did you say something?”, they are in awareness level 2.
If the guard says “I saw something there” then he is an awareness level 3. If a guard has seen you, you will usually know because either he will be shouting and chasing you or hacking at you with his sword or hammer.
C. Also, watch their movement. It usually tells if your enemy is patrolling or just standing guard. If they all of a sudden change their movements after saying a phrase from above they they are probably in alertness level 3 or 4
D. According to the makers of the game, the less aware the enemy is of your presence, the more hit more hit points you attacks take off.

TO KILL OR NOT TO KILL

Most of the time don’t kill. I know it is fun to try and be a sniper but you will almost always alert someone else and make a mess of it all. Most of the time it isn’t necessary to kill someone in thief. In fact, some of the levels in expert mode require you to finish without killing anyone. This is where the blackjack comes in handy. If you creep up behind someone and whack them with the blackjack the are out cold and they don’t make and noise either. If a guard has seen you then the blackjack wont knock them out, you can beat them to death with it though which is funny. If you absolutely have to kill someone then save the game before doing so, that way you can return back to when you were unknown.

SWORD FIGHTING

Even though it is true you shouldn’t fight unless you have to, you should try and get good at using your sword for when it is needed. You don’t want to just stand there hacking your sword at them, even though you may kill someone that way, but if you need to kill someone after that your health level will probably be too low to do so.

HERE ARE THE RULES OF HOW TO USE YOUR SWORD
1. Always keep you sword in block position unless attacking
2. Keep you distance from the enemy and only come close to attack.
3. Move in with the swing of the sword and then back off.
4. If you survive the battle hide the body(s) in a dark room where they will not be found. This way no guards will come looking for you.
5. If there are blood stains on the floor where you killed someone, you can clean them up with a water arrow!

THE BOW AND ARROW

A. It is worth taking the time to zoom in as this increases damage.
B. Always use the bow for surprise attacks. Usually if the enemy is unaware of you one arrow will kill them.
C. If an enemy knows you are there you can shoot them with 8 to 10 arrows while hiding in the dark. They still have to find you (assuming you haven’t already been seen) and if you are skilled enough with the bow you can kill them without been found. Of course this method has its problems.
1. You might run out of arrows
2. You might alert more guards
3. You may be found and killed
D. If you have drawn back an arrow but down want to fire it, do not just release it because this makes noise and wastes an arrow. Instead select another weapon.
E. Don’t be too close to the explosion of a fire arrow or gas arrow because they will cause damage to you.
F. If you don’t have any noisemakers you can use broadhead arrows. Just shoot the arrow against a metal lamp or a brick wall or floor. Wooden crates or walls will make no noise. They only bad thing is that you cant get you arrows back but you can with a noisemaker arrow.
