About FODRA
|
The urban community development initiative of FODRA was started with the poor migrated families in Pratap Nagar(a low-income unauthorised cluster in north-east Delhi) in the year 1996 with a futuristic strategy of gradually expanding its activities to adjoining low-income clusters in Delhi. Before initiating this urban community development project, FODRA has implemented a 4 year duration microcredit and micro enterprise development project during 1995-1999 in partnership with Naujhil Integrated Rural Project for Health and Development(a local NGO in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh) by promoting more 80 village based savings and credit self help groups in 118 villages of Mathura district and establishing formal credit linkages from Small Industries Development bank of India to the womens self help groups for rural micro enterprise development among poor women.
Recently, FODRA has established its presence among the NGOs in Madhya Pradesh as resource/support group after FODRA team members being retained by BILANCE/CORDAID, the Netherlands for project monitoring and capacity building of 6 NGOs supported/funded by BILANCE/CORDAID. |
