THREE POINTS TO REMEMBER:
There are three important things you need to teach your children to remember to keep them from being a victim of child abduction:
1. Run away from strangers.
2. Don't talk to strangers.
3. Never get into a car or vehicle with a stranger.
If your child will remember these three important points they will be well on their way of preventing an abduction.
An average adult can cover a distance of 21 feet in about one second. That means, if you turn your back on your child for five seconds, or it takes your child five seconds to begin to run away from a potential abductor, that person could cover a distance of 105 feet in that time! Frightening thought, isn't it?
If you listen to news accounts of children that have successfully escaped being a victim of an abduction, one important point keeps coming up time and time again. THE CHILD RAN AWAY FROM THE ABDUCTOR. Teaching your child to run away from an abductor is the most important thing for you to remember.
