 Xenogears is considered by many to be "the" best RPG of all time. For those of you that don't know what an RPG is, it is a role playing game. In this particular gem by Squaresoft, notorious to the gaming world for it's epic adventures, you play a young man name Fei. You start out in a small village called Lahan. It is a small village with high ideals and down-to-earth living styles. It is the day your two best friends will be married and the preperations are all set. Who could anticipate what would happen next, or what it will lead too. Suddenly six Gears, giant robots of mass destruction employed by the nations of Kislev and Aveh, land in the center of Lahan and start fighting. The whole village is evacuating, but you see a lone gear, one which seems undamaged, but is lacking a pilot. Only "God" knows what made you get in that gear and start fighting, but what happens after is catastrophic. Throughout Fei's emotionally intensive quest, he learns about his past and other dark secerts about life in general and the hierarchy of leadership which will decide the fate of the world. I highly recommend this game, it has a storyline to match any you've read, seen, heard, or played before. It will suck you in with uncountable plot twists and shocking discoveries which lead to the truth, but sometimes you can't handle the truth(Jack rox- ed.) If you are looking for a deep, well thought-out plot, this is definitely for you. I repeatedly warn that this game is NOT for children under the age of 13 or so. It contains graphic violence, language, and partial nudity. More people die in this game then in any other I've seen. This adventure features a high content of biblical and religous elements which make it so damn interesting. On a rating of 1-10 Stars I gave Xenogears a perfect TEN. It is quite possibly the best and most envolving game we will ever see in our lifetimes. Until the prequel Xenosaga: Episode 1: Zer Wille Der Match(The will to Power.) X1,Q1,2003. |
