The Bouncer was released in late May of the year 2001. It is, essentially, an action movie, done completely in CG graphics, the kind used in the popular Final Fantasy series. During this movie, you get to have an interactive role by playing the fight scenes.
In a not so distant future, you may play as Sion, Koe, or Volt, one of three bouncers at a bar called Fate. You have a quiet personality, and a past you are unwilling to reveal. One day you meet a girl on the streets, her name is Dominique. She has no home and hangs around Fate, with the bouncers. She is the only one who can bring light into your life. She finds a side of you that has been buried for years. Then, on your birthday, the evil mega-corporation Mikado corporation kidnaps her. Five genetically rendered soldiers break through the celing of Fate, grab Dominique, and escape through the window. The time has come. The job is at hand. You must rescue Dominique from the clutches of the Mikado's CEO turned megalomaniac, Duragan C. Mikado. Good luck, you will need it.
I highly recommend this game to a number of audiences. First off, this is for anyone who likes good graphics, these, my friends, are insane. Second, fighting fans will enjoy it as a great fighter. Finally, RPG fans will love it because it's Squaresoft, and it has a point system which allows you to customize attributes and even earn special moves. To back all this up, the game has a great storyline. Even though the game can be beaten in three hours, it takes a tremendous amount of skill, and having played the game seven times through, in order to see all the endings. This is a great game, great movie, and great novel.
I give this game an overall rating of 8.75 out of a possible 10. |
