Ok, I'm writing this section for this site and i am very good at aoc(age of empires expansion) and i will be giving you strategies for the civilizations and stuff, and i also disagree with brandon, i think that ff8 deserves 10 out of 10 stars but thats me.

In Age of Empires: The Age of King's expansion pack there are main civilizations which can be used to kill eachother, these strategies are for people who use the deathmatch style of playing

Basic Dm survival knowledge
1. When the game starts fill your town center with 15 villagers first thing
2. Take one villager and make houses and the other 2 make stables or barracks with to prevent a rush, or have one villager make a house and the other work on a castle, set the gather point on the castle and when the house is done have that villager make the castle also
3. Put a town center next to anything you want to mine, for instance gold, then make 15 villes and put the gather point on the gold, do the same for stone, and wood.
4. If you like you can make a market and sell your wood down to 17, this allowss for more gold and thus more units can be made, but you must chop earlier because of this.
5. The paladin kills anything except halbadiers/pikemen and many scorpions or bombard towers, remember this

Civilization Strategies
Azteks-This civilzation has no horses at all, so i reccomend making alot of infantry and some arbalests, the bonus to this civ is that they have siege onagers which are very powerful yet very costly, but the azteks infantry also has a big bonus against other infatry and horses, so they deal more damage then they normally would.

Britons- I reccomend making barracks first and making halbadiers then make some cavaliers and longbowmen along with trebuchets, and warning, onagers kill longbowmen.

Byzantines- I reccomend making stables first and making paladins, in the event they have lots of halbadiers make many cataphracts from your castle and bombard towers. Also if needed you can make halbadiers if you are low on gold. This civ's buildings also have more health than anyone else's buildings so they are harder to kill

Celts- This is a civilization that is mostly used for experts and is very powerful and sometimes slow if you dont know what you are doing. I suggest making stables then selling your wood down to 17, make a lot of paladins until you have about 5000 gold left then make 4 siege workshops and from each one make 15 scorpions and the 4th one only make 5 siege onagers. Dont forget trebuchets, make a lot of them as well, they really help. When you are fighting try to put the paladins in front of the trebuchets and the siege behind, i also reccomend setting the siege on stand ground so that they dont try to attack a castle and die. The celts unique unit(UU) is called the woad raider and is made very fast, it is an infantry unit that kills mostly all the infantry except for champions, they also have a bonus against buildings and are good for killing siege and archers because of their increased speed of movement.

Chinese- The chinese start out with 6 villagers instead of only 3, and their town centers(TC) hold a pop of 10 instead of only 5 like all the others. For this civilization i cannot reccomend much, they are one of my weaker civilizations but their scorpions deal 5 more damage then other people's scorpions and their UU is also an archer that has little range yet fires very fast.

Franks- The franks are a good civilization for "rushing" which is when u try to get paladins into the other persons town and kill them quickly, their paladins have 192 health instead of 180 or 160 which other civ's paladins have. Their UU is a unit called the throwing axeman and he throws axes, the range on a throwing axeman is i think 5 or 6, not sure. Axemen kill all infantry quite easily but die to archers, along with making paladins and axemen i reccomend making some scorpions, they are powerful if stuck behind things. Mine gold as quickly as possible and stone too, even though their castles cost less stone, you will want to make alot of them.

Goths- This civilization is infantry based and has 20% faster barracks than a normal barrack. They too can rush people but i suggest using a huskarl rush, Huskarls are the UU of the goths yet their unique technology allows them to make it out of the barracks. The huskarls can move quickly and have a bonus verse buildings as well as 10 pierce armor which means arrows deal almost no damage to them, or very little. If your rush doesnt work i suggest a mix of huskarls/halbediers/champions along with trebuchets, scorpions, and some bombard cannons to try to kill the opponent, if this does not work, ur screwed.

Huns- The ultimate rushing civilization, they dont need houses and their stables are 20% faster, making a paladin come out extremely fast, plus their UU is the Tarkan, which has a huge bonus against all buildings. As well as that their cavalry archers are superior and cost less, i suggest rushing then making cavalry archers as well to kill any halbediers, if this doesnt work say bye because the huns lack good siege, infantry, and almost everything else.

Japanese- Fast packing and un-packing trebuchets is all that matters, to win all you need is the trebuchets, some infatry and alot of scorpions, watch out for bombard cannons though, but other than that, you are fine, i dont reccomend this civilization for first time users though, you must know how to use them and what to do in different scenarios.

Koreans- So good they are banned in almost all the Dm games, i suggest you not even try to master this civilization because if you do, you wont find a single game to play in online that allows Koreans to be used. If you do want to try though, make onagers, halbediers, war wagons from the castle and lots of bombard towers, u dont lose, believe me.

Mayans- 2 words, Eagle Warriors, eagles are fast moving infantry that usually die to scorpions, but the mayan's eagle warriors have 100 health and lots of pierce armor, making them practically invincible, except to champions, so you make the Mayan's UU, plumed archers. The plumed archer has the most health of any archer in the game and has a decent range, they can take out champions for you and can withstand a normal onagers hit which is very good. If you like you can also try to rush with the mayans eagle warrior, since the mayans start out with 4 villagers instead of 3. Always use trebuchets and watch out for bombard towers, they give a real beating to eagle warriors.

Mongols- When someone first suggested to me "use mangudai" i laughed very hard. But as time went on, more people were using mongols, and it turns out they are very good, mangudai can kill an unpacked trebuchet in seconds, yet the trebuchet has 150 pierce armor(mangudai are super cavalry archers) and the mangudai also have a big bonus vs siege as well as kill infantry. The mongols siege moves faster than anyone else's siege and they have very good siege. You might want to make some camels just to kill paladins, because mangudai dont do that great of a job killing paladins, they can do it, but by the time they do, the paladins have killed your trebs already, put the camels in front, then trebuchets, then mangudai and siege. This is the best strategy.

Persians- "War Elephant" is all that comes to mind when the word Persians is said, the War elephant is a super cavalry, it has 620 health, does massive damage, and doesnt die to arrows, the downside is, they cost 200 food and 75 gold each and die very easily to halbediers. So i suggest scorpions, and elephants, if you want maybe some onagers, also farm very early and stay away from bombard towers, they kill elephants very easily.

Saracens- Their UU is the anti cavalry, its a man sitting on a camel that throws machetes, those machetes rip through paladins like a hot knife through butter, Archers and or scorpions kill mamelukes, but to prevent that simple make bombard cannons and some siege onagers, which will dispose of your troubles quite easily. Trebuchets also, to kill off any bombard towers that might be lurking around.

Spanish- If any of you have seen the move Gladiator, you know maximus is a spaniard and he is very tough, same goes for the spanish's villagers, instead of the normal 40 health, 3 damage, 1/1 armor the spanish villagers have 90 health, 9 damage, and 3/3 armor, they are very tough, the spanish have paladins, bombard towers, and their UU is a conquistador, a man holding a small cannon on horseback, which is used for anti infantry. The spanish also have bombard cannons which nowadays are very useful in killing things, especially trebuchets. The main strategy for spanish is Paladins, conquistadors and bombard towers and bombard cannons, along with some trebuchets, the spanish siege lacks in many areas so i dont reccomend using too much spanish siege.

Teutons- Their UU is the strongest infatry in the game, and the slowest, they pack paladins, bombard cannons, scorpions, and siege onagers, along with long ranged castles, and 17 range trebuchets. The teutons are very good and i reccomend using them often, make halbediers/paladins along with some of every siege unit they have except rams, litter the area with some bombard towers and castles, and you are ready for anything.

Turks- This civilization is a siege powerhouse, their bombard towers have 13 range instead of the normal 10 or 11 and their bombard cannons have 100 health and 14 range, their UU is a jannisarie, a man holding a small cannon, jannisaries mow down infantry, their main strategy is lots of towers, jannisaries and alot of bombard cannons, it may seem simple but it is very effective.

Vikings- I dont reccomend this civ, they just stink, their infantry has more health, but they lack the paladin, and a good UU, and their only good siege is a scorpion, so i dont reccomend this civilization at all.

There might be more coming, im not sure, depends how things work out.
