This page is for expert Death match players. If you are a rook, you can try these strats, but be warned that they must be executed with precise timing if you are going to pull them off. These strats are a colaboration of Brandon's and Sean's efforts to kill everyone else on the MSN gaming zone. You can find us at the zone.

Ok now on to the strategies, this may take a week or two to complete, but it will be done by the end of January 2001.

First off these strategies are from Xperts, why, because we are Xperts. In non-rated deathmatch our record is 48-0.

Teutons

The teutons are a great civilization for beginners and xperts, this is the frist civ I ever played with, and one I still use quite often. These strat should only be tried in post-imperial deathmatch, prefferably a map that has no water(unless it's oasis).

Strat Against Saracens

You start the game off by having two peasants make barracks and one build houses. Hold shift and press B and E, the hotkeys for the house, then hold shift and keep clicking. Try to start far away from the building peasant and end up clicking the last house right on him/her. This way the peasant starts building the house closest to him and saves time. Next, since you are versing saracens, you will not want to make paladins. Paladins die to mamelukes. It is quite sad. Two-hundred paladins die to forty mamelukes. Out of your barracks, you should have made about seven, pump pikeman. Anywhere between forty and sixty is sufficient. Next build siege workshops. By now you should have at least seven peasants. Have one build houses, two build siege workshops, approxiamtely four, and have the remaining four peasants build a castle at the farthest end of your town. The side facing the enemy. Some people choose to scout with the unit given to them in the beginning og the game. This is ok, your objective is to killthe other guy's villagers before they can get buildings up, but be warned if your scout is away, there is nothing protecting your town from the same thing. This only matters during the first two minutes of the game. Next, out of your workshops, pump fifteen scorps from two shops and five to ten onagers from the remaining one. Next have your peasants build another castle closer to your enemy and pump ten trebuchets from the first castle. By this time your pikes should be finished, so move them up to the castle in progress. Once the second castle is up, make one more even closer to the enemy's base. From the second castle pump fifteen teutonic knights. Teutonic knights wreck mamelukes. Once the third castle is done, pump fifteen teuts knights from this as well. By now your siege should be done. Move this up behind your pikemen. Now you are ready to attack and should be about ten minutes into the game. efore you attack, make sure you build a town center next to every gold mine and pump ten or more peasants. Gold and map control are everything. If you have allies. set up trade, but if not, just mine gold and collect the relics early. All five relics can give you over thirty thousand gold if you get them quickly(results based on a one hour ten minute game). Now that your econ is taken care of, for the moment, advance your troops. Have the pikemen in front, trebs behind them, and siege last. Once you engage enemy troops, which will most likely be siege onagers, mamelukes and one-hundred and seventy hp camels, do the following: Use your pikemen as lures. I know it sounds suicidal, but trust me on this one. When the enemy spots you, runs your pkimen back in front of your trebs. The siege will take care of any camels or mamelukes, and the trebs can hit the advancing siege onagers. Now be prepared for cannon ball mania. Usually a saracen will now make bombard cannons and hand connoners. Hand cannoners kill your pikemen, and bombard cannons kill the trebs and siege. This is why you must make five more onagers from each workshop. When they are done, move them up besides all your pikemen. When the bombard cannons try to take out your onagers, swarm them with pikes. The hand cannoneers will be backing them up, but the pikes are only a distraction. You should have killed most of the bombard cannons with the pikes, and some should still be living. Since cannoneers attack the closest thing to them, they will attempt to kill the pikemen. Get your onagers in range, and unleesh everything on the cannoneers. This should kill that army. Advance your trebs and scorps, and make more pikemen. Your peasants should be done mining the gold, now make three fourths of them chop, and one-fourth of them farm. You will need more wood then food. Keep up the pattern of advancing and luring, and make sure to build castles or other military buildings in new-gained territory to hold your land. If you run out of gold, you can try selling wood, or rely on your relics, they should work well. Also, make sure you have the map control. Spread out sideways as well as towards your opponent, and make sure they aren't killing your economy when you aren't looking. Try to attack a town from many angles and send raiding parties to try and kill unprotected villagers. If you can get the miners and choppers, you are home free. Without resources, there is no military. Besides your opponent should be dead by now!!
