Pallet Town
The sleepy village of Pallet Town is where your Pokemon adventure will begin. Your goal is to be recognized as the greatest Pokemon trainer in the world. At the same time Professor Oaks grandson, Gary, will do everything he can to thwart you and Claim that honor for himself!
Getting Started
When your adventure begins, you'll be asked to choose names for yourself and your rival, Professor Oak's grandson. You may choose default names from the computer's list or make up two of your own. For this feature, we'll refer to your rival as "Gary," one of his default names. Now explore Pallet Town, being sure to visit Gary's house for a peek at the map on the wall. After you've talked to everyone, head north toward Route 1. Before you get very far, Professor Oak will appear and escort you to his lab. Once there, he'll let you choose one of his Pokemon for your very own!
Youre First Pokemon
Each Pokemon has its own strengths and weaknesses, and choosing which one to take is really a matter of personal preference. I say Charmander is the cOoL one but however that Bulbasaur will fare the best against some of your early rivals. Before you leave Professor Oak's lab, Gary will challenge you and your Pokemon to your first duel. If your Pokemon faints you are a bad trainer so TRAIN and you have to take your Pokemon home to your mom for medical treatment. (The best 1 to pick is Bulbasaur if this will be your first time and if you like Dragons like me pick Charmander I know he is not a Dragon but he looks like 1 if you have a friend or both Paks and 2 Gameboys pick one game to be the main game and the other to get the other like if you started with Bulbasaur in the main game go to the other and get Charmander and trade then Squirtle and trade then you will have all 3)
Route 1
Pokemon you can get on Route 1
(Pidey type:Flying Evolution:Pidgeotto then Pidgeot (Red:Many Blue:Many)
(Rattata type:Normal Evolution:Raticate (Red:Many Blue:Many)
With your Pokemon in tow, take Route 1 north to Viridian City. As you wander through the tall grass, wild Pokemon will challenge you. You wont be able to capture them just yet, but thats all right. Let your Pokemon fight a few battles to gain experience. (Bryce Hint when you get 6 Pokemon train all of them not 1 but all) If your Pokemon is injured or faints, you can take it home or to the Pokemon Center in Viridian City. As you explore the countryside, youll meet various people. Some will be friendly citizens who may give you clues, while others will be rival Pokemon trainers who will challenge you to duels. Youll find wild Pokemon in grassy areas. If your Pokemon is weak, use the Run command to escape.
Viridian City
Viridian City has a Pokemon Mart, a Pokemon Center and a Gym. Gyms are where Pokemon trainers usually hang out, but this one is strangely empty. When you visit other towns, youll be able to Challenge local trainers, but for now, youll have to content with just looking around.
Special Delivery
The First time you visit the Pokemon Mart in Viridian City, you wont actually be able to buy anything. The Pokemon Mart clerk will give you a package to take to Professer Oak. Deliver the package to receive a Pokedex. The Pokedex is a portable compter that you can use to store your data files on all the Pokemon youve seen or captured. Now return to Viridian City and buy some Pokeballs. If you plan on staying in the area between Pallet Town and Viridian City to build experience, dont bother buying any special medicines just yet. Once you decide to head north to Pewter City, buy at least a couple of Antidotes (which will cure any Poison) for the road.
Welcome to the Pokemon Center
If you ever need help, the Pokemon Center will be the place to go. There are branch offices in most cities, and theyll provide your Pokemon with free medical treatment. Youll also be able to use their computers to access your PC at home, Professor Oaks PCs to store extra items and Pokemon and to receive an evaluation on your progress from Professor Oak. You can carry only six Pokemon at a time. Each Pokemon Center has a PC you can use to access other PCs. If you access Professor Oaks PC, hell evaluate your progress.
