When you start playing Final Fantasy VIII, you will notice a strange-shaped building in the game (It looks like a seashell). That is actually Garden, named Balamb Garden because it is in a region called Balamb. It is a private school that trains kids in 6 to 19 years of age to a highly technique soldier. To graduate, the students must pass the graduation exam between the ages 15 to 19. If not, he or she will be expelled from the Garden. Becoming a member of SeeD is a much harder goal than passing the graduation exam. SeeD is a special force; something like the "Mercenary"only the best and talented trainees can join. The main character in FF8 Squall, hopes to be a member of SeeD. There are no magic shops in FF8. The only ways to use magic is using a technique call Draw Magic from a G.F. a.k.a. Guardian Force. What it does is to draw magic from enemy and use it by yourself. When you first step out of Balamb Garden. You see a world that may look peaceful and merry but truly it hides a problematic and chaotic world. War can break out between nations at any time. Garden, a school of elite soldiers, was created to maintain peace throughout the country, destroying all the oppressions that were to start a war. With the help of the Garden, scattered all over the world, but not working under any country, they were able to successfully fulfill their mission. That is still happens until the evil witch Edea woke up from her long slumber...When Squall has finally been recruited by SeeD, he attends a dinner party in honor of the new members like himself. This is where he meets Rinoa. Although they do not reveal each other's identities, they meet each other again later in the game, during which Squall finds out that Rinoa is actually the leader of the Forest Owls, a resistance movement fighting against Galbadia. Even if the Special Forces assist them, SeeD, the Forest Owls are not very successful in their conflicts with Galbadia. None of them seem to care about the consequences of their actions. After having his met with Rinoa for the second time, Squall has a dream. In this dream, he is a man named Laguna Loire, a Galbadian soldier who would rather be a journalist. He is in a mission with two of his close friends, Ward Zaback and Kiros Seagul. Meanwhile, many complicating matters have transpired in the nation of Galbadia. They have declared war against the world and, seeing that Edea was working together with President Deling, Squall is sent on a mission by SeeD to assassinate her. It gets even more complicated when Seifer is seen by the witch's side. What will happen next. I will not tell you any far about this. Find it out now by playing the game.
