FINAL FANTASY XII OUT IN JAPAN!!

3/16/2006- FINAL FANTASY XII NEWS

Square Enix's launch of Final Fantasy XII went pretty well in the land of the rising sun. Even tought it was a weekday, customers were seen in line awaiting with much excitement to get their hands on a copy.

Square Enix held it's official launch of Final Fantasy XII a bit earlier at the Shibuya Tsutaya, where about 100 people lined up to get a glimpse of the game's creators. Final Fantasy XII director Akitoshi Kawatsu and Square Enix president Yoichi Wada appeared at the retail location to commemorate the game's launch.

According to Yoichi Wada, Final Fantasy XII's initial shipment will be more than 2 million units. Square Enix is expecting that by the end of the month, all of this 2 million copies will be sold, allowing the company to reach it's forecast for the fiscal year. There were some comments about Final Fantasy XII been released this Thanksgiving in North America, followed by a release in Europe. The game will also be released in Korea next month on April 6.

3/07/2006- FF XII - DQ VIII NEWS

Square-Enix has announced plans to bring classic RPG series Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy together in a new game for the PSP. However, Japanese magazine Shonen Jump has revealed the first snippets of info about the game, including news that it will feature playable characters from both series, including Final Fantasy XII's Fran and Balflear. Stages will include one based on the Phantom Train in Final Fantasy VI. This isn't the first time Square-enix has produced a DQ/FF game - back in 2004, they released Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Special for the PS2. It was a big hit in Japan, but never made it over here. The PSP game won't be a direct port of the original - instead it'll feature all-new characters and stages.




2/26/2006- FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN NEWS ((caceled!))

At long last, a (presumably final) release date for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children has been announced. The full-length CG movie will be released on DVD and PSP on April 25th.

The DVD version is a two-disc "Special Edition." It's lacking some of the content featured in the expensive Japanese set, but it does feature some nice bonus content, including deleted scenes, "Making Of...", footage of Advent Children from the Venice Film Festival, a sneak-peek at the upcoming games of the Compliation of Final Fantasy VII, story digest.

The film has a running time of 101 minutes and will be rated PG-13 by the MPAA.

9/22/2005- DRAGON QUEST VIII NEWS... BONUS FF XII DEMO!!

Square-Enix has announced the release of a Final Fantasy XII demo with the upcoming release of Dragon Quest VIII: JOURNEY OF THE CURSED KING November 22/2005. The DEMO will have english-speaking voice-overs, a full-orchestral soundtrack, a completely renovated GUI menu system, new battle abilities, and improved animations. Those who are awaiting DQ8 will ceartainly get their money's worth!

9/19/2005- FINAL FANTASY IV ADVANCED NEWS

Square-enix has announced the Re-release of Final Fantasy IV for the GAME BOY ADVANCE. Final Fantasy IV was originaly released in North America for the SUPER NINTENDO. A few years later it was re-released for the PSone along with Chrono Trigger in FINAL FANTASY CHRONICLES. The GAME BOY ADVANCE version will feature a couple of surprises, and a graphic upgrade like the one we got see in FINAL FANTASY: DAWN of SOULS for the GBA, which included Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II. Final Fantasy IV for the GAME BOY ADVANCE is expected to be released sometime in December!



9/7/2005- FINAL FANTASY VII: DIRGE OF CERBERUS NEWS

Gamers that were hoping to participate in the Japanese beta testing of Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus will have to wait a bit longer. Square-Enix attributes the delay to some last minute issues in the game's programming, and it hopes to begin testing as early as possible. Square-Enix has already begun shipping the beta testings kits for Dirge of Cerberus.
