| Final Fantasy Finally back with Nintendo |
In the latest issue of Nintendo Official Magazine, possibly the UK's best selling Nintendo magazine, the editors hint that Final Fantasy XI will be heading to the Dolphin after all.
The magazine says that their Japanese sources are reporting to them that Square will be porting Final Fantasy XI to the Dolphin, which opens up many doors to other Square games.
Why is this so believeable? Not only because NOM is an official Nintendo magazine and has rarely, if not ever, had a faulty source, but because Square has an elaborate envision of its PlayOnline strategy. Final Fantasy XI is already planned to be released on the PC at the same time it is released on the PlayStation 2. Because the game utilizes a modem to connect players, the possibility of it being released on the Dolphin is very high. Square wants the game available to everyone, as it is their most lucrative venture into the online market. Also, with problems sprucing up left and right with the PlayStation 2 development kits, Square just maybe more than happy to port the game and other Final Fantasy titles to the Dolphin because of its ease of use and wicked horsepower.
