Game story line:
The Red Wings was once a proud military force of the skies, commanded by the honorable kingdom of Baron. The commander of its air force, Cecil, has been given the task of forcefully taking the four crystals of earth, and is discharged from the Red Wings after questioning the King's motives. He sets out to stop the growing threat that is Baron, and in the process unveils a far more insidious enemy.

Cecil was born in Baron and has lived there all his life. After becoming the captain of the red wings he is ordered to steal a crystal from the people of Mysidia. Realizing what he is doing is wrong, he stands up for his morals. He seeks answers about who he is as well as the world around him.
Kain Highwind

Kain, like Cecil, was born in Baron and has lived there all his life. He became a dragoon to honor his father's memory. He joins Cecil early in the game to deliver a package to the Village of Mist. His motivations are unclear throughout much of the game.
Rydia of Mist

Rydia joins Cecil after losing her mother. She is quite untrusting at first, but soon realizes that Cecil only wants to help. When she first joins she knows only how to use the Chocobo Summon spell, but has great potential to become a powerful wizard.
Tellah

Tellah was once a powerful sage, but has forgotten most of the spells he once knew. When you encounter him he is in need of help to get through a watery pass to find his daughter, who eloped with her love.
Edward (Gilbert Chris von Muir)

Abilities: Sing, Hide
Edward, the Prince of Damcyan and the love of Tellah's daughter Anna, joins the party after losing everything. He seeks revenge against those who destroyed his home and killed the love of his life.
Rosa Farrell

Rosa, Cecil's love, travels to find him after he dissapears on his trip to the Village of Mist. In the process she contracts Desert Fever. Eventually Cecil is able to cure her and she joins to support him. She is a powerful white magic user and a great asset to the party. |
