| Game Sprite Evolution By Trance Disclaimer: I do not own Reboot in any way, shape, or form, no matter how much I want to. (There would be more seasons if I did) Chapter One ~ Dreams "It's coming child, but are you ready?" He asked, just as he had been doing for seconds. Each time she didn't know how to answer, she wasn't quite sure. His reaction was what it had been. "You must choose, or you'll never be able to evolve, ever. You have two seconds left." And he disappeared. It was over. AndrAIa woke up from her dream. "Why did this have to happen now? Why?" She thought. Matrix stirred beside her. Even though they shared many things, this was something she didn't tell him. His reaction might be dangerous. He might think someone was trying to hurt her. She didn't notice that he had quietly sat up and was looking at her until he had put his hand on her shoulder. It made her jump slightly. "What's the matter Andi?" He said, obviously concerned. "Nothing, just thinking." she half lied. It was true that she was thinking, but something was the matter. Matrix wrapped his arms around her and set his head on hers. "I love you Enzo." She said. She hadn't even been thinking about saying it, she just said it. Matrix gently kissed her head. "I love you too." He laid her down and covered her up with the blankets. "Just rest now AndrAIa, you look like you need it." AndrAIa decided the next morning that she would see Phong. He could usually be of help, it was just trying to understand the help that he gave sometimes. She disentangled herself from her lover's arms, got dressed and left to go the principal office. She found Phong in his office drinking his cup of cocoa. "Good morning, my child. How are you?" AndrAIa sighed before replying "Not as good as usual." Phong put down his cup of cocoa and rolled over to the troubled game sprite. "Sit my child, sit." He motioned to the couch on the side of the room. She sat and Phong started his questioning. "Now tell me child, what ails you?" AndrAIa told him about the dream she had been having, and the problem of deciding. "If I say yes, I'm afraid of what others would say, especially Matrix. If I changed, I don't know what his reaction would be. If I say no, I would be different than other game sprites. If I ever met up with other game sprites, they would think me weak for! not doing it." Phong thought carefully for his next question. "Would you be taken from Mainframe if you said yes?" AndrAIa said "No" just as there came a knock on the door. "Come in." Phong said. Bob rushed in and slammed the door behind him. "How do you lock it?" he asked quickly. "Press the button on the door knob." Bob did that and fell to the ground. Suddenly, they heard yelling coming from behind the door. "Bob, you get the hell out here right NOW!" It sounded like Dot. "You get out here so I can kick your sorry ASCII!" This, AndrAIa and Phong thought, must have been from Mouse. "What'd you do Bob?" asked AndrAIa. "Well, me and Enzo kinda threw water Balloons at Dot and Mouse and Matrix when they were going into the diner. I don't know where Enzo ended up though." Phong turned to AndrAIa. "Perhaps we should continue this later." AndrAIa nodded in agreement. She walked over to the door and yelled to the angry sprites on the other side "Girls, I'm coming out, so please d! on't try and delete me." She unlocked the door and stepped out. "She's brave stepping out there into that war zone." Stated Bob. Upon exiting Phong's office, she saw three very steamed sprites. "Uh, hi. I was just leaving." Mouse stopped her. "Is he still in there?!" AndrAIa had rarely ever seen Mouse this mad. It was scary. She nodded quite quickly. "Good." AndrAIa started walking again as the two girls started trying to break down the door again. Matrix stopped her. "What are you doing here Andi?" he questioned her. "Oh, I just wanted to talk to Phong for a nano." AndrAIa headed over to the diner, hoping to get an energy shake. She entered the diner and sat down in a booth. She felt something shaking at her feet. Looking down, she saw the smaller version of Enzo Matrix. "Hey Enzo, why are you down there?" He whispered to her "Are they gone?" AndrAIa smiled and replied "They're still after Bob. And I don't think they'd hurt you like they would do to Bob." Enzo crawled back onto the seat opposite AndrAIa. "I thought Matrix was gonna delete me when he gave me that look." They spoke for the best of about three milliseconds. Then around 1300 the diner door opened and Dot came in followed by Mouse and Matrix dragging Bob. Mouse spotted Enzo "There's the other one!" Matrix let go of Bob, knowing Mouse could handle him, and walked over to AndrAIa and Enzo's booth. Enzo went under the table and reappeared behind AndrAIa. "Give me that kid AndrAIa." Matrix yelled. AndrAIa waved her head. "Matrix, you can't be serious about hurting him can you?" Matrix grinned. "He's going to get what he deserves. Now give him to me." Enzo put his small arms around AndrAIa's one right arm. He was shaking again. AndrAIa put both her arms around him. "Enzo, as long as I'm here, you are not touching a hair on this sprites head." With that she stood up and walked out of the diner, carrying Enzo in her arms. Once outside, she set him on the ground and a! ctivated her zip-board, speaking in a language Enzo didn't understand. "Takim, darta, himya."* "Huh?" Enzo said, quite confused. AndrAIa didn't answer. After a few nanoseconds, "Come on Enzo, let's go the P.O. I've still got a conversation to finish with Phong." She didn't speak the rest of the way. Once they arrived, Enzo spotted Frisket sitting at the bottom of the P.O. steps. "Hey boy!" Frisket came over and started to lick Enzo. Enzo whispered into Frisket's ear and, understanding his master's wish, walked to AndrAIa and licked her hand. She kneeled down. "Hey boy." Her face was saddened. She hadn't forgotten as to why she had come here again. Frisket rubbed his face against hers. "You know there's something wrong, don't you? You're a smart dog." She stood up. "Hey Enzo, why don't you stay with Frisket. I'll be back soon." (* The language that AndrAIa is speaking is a language that was created so AI game sprites could talk to one another without others knowing what they were saying.(pretty much made up) 'Takim, darta, and himya' mean 'Stupid, stubborn, and idiot.') ---To be continued... |
