When the time comes for an animal to pass on, sadness and tears will follow.
But this is not the kind of guilt the animal would want you to swallow.
So think of the pet, but don't be sad, because that's not what he would desire.
Just remember he's waiting for you to join him and sing in the heavenly choir.

Zeus : 1998-2001
He was a good ferret and always was ready to play and have fun. I loved him so much and still do. Unfortunately he died unexpectedly and left his best friend Vir to long for a companion. We filled the empty hammock, but no ferret will ever take Zeus's place.

Annie : 1980-1996
Orphan Annie came to my family before I was even born. She crawled into our basement through the crawl space and had her kittens there. She always came to my mom while she was sunning and visited her. When my mom watched to see where she went to hide to one day, we realized it was our basement. We took her in and kept her, although she was afraid of people. We found out that kids had been throwing rocks at her before we took care of her. Annie, or as we called her "Nannie" had five kittens: Mr Brown, Sasha, Casey, Tigger, and Grey. We kept Tigger. As she got older and began to deteriorate, we had to put her to sleep when she fell off a chair and broke her back. We think of her every time we eat spaghetti because she loved to eat the red sauce.

Tigger : 1982-1996
Tigger died two weeks after we put Nannie to sleep. He was old and deteriorating as well, and we did not know that he had thyriod disease and liver failure. He was attacked by a dog we were pet sitting, and my dad rushed him to the emergency veterinary clinic. They told us that after he spent the night there, to take him to our normal vet and he would stay there a few days and be home fine. When our normal vet took blood tests he diagnosed the diseases and told us the most humane thing to do would be put ting him to sleep. We still remember him often, and the meows he would sing to us!
